For Immediate Release:

It is with a saddened heart, we inform you all of the passing of Firefighter Troy Hardin. Firefighter Hardin served his community for 32 years. Firefighter Hardin served as Chief of the Loretto Fire Department for roughly 8 years, then joined the Raywick Fire Department and served till present date.

Firefighter Hardin was not just a friend. He was family and a brother to many in the local and surrounding counties.

The burn ban for Marion County has been lifted.

As always, we encourage anyone wanting to burn to call Lebanon Police dispatch at 270-692-2121 prior to burning anything for approval.

The Judge has spoken to the Fire Chief this morning and they recommend leaving the Burn Ban in place at this time. We will continue to update this post if anything changes. Thank you!

Great training at Loretto Fire Dept 393 today! Thank you to all that participated and came out to enjoy this great opportunity. Thank you Dale Dobson and the Raising Hope crew for coming out and training us. Thank you to Marion County Farm Bureau for providing lunch from Big Papa's Smokehouse, Marion County FFA members for serving it, and the following departments for sending members to gain this valuable knowledge. Raywick Fire Department New Hope Volunteer Fire Department Rolling Fork Fire Department Lebanon Fire, Gravel Switch Fire Department and Campbellsville Fire.

Loretto Fire Department is pleased to announce that we will be hosting a grain bin rescue class on April 18th starting at 9:00 a.m. Local farmers and the public is invited to attend and see what we do if things go bad inside of a grain bin. Training will be held at the Loretto Fire Department, 100 Schoolhouse Dr. Loretto, KY.

One of our outstanding Junior Firefighters, Makaylah Wiley attended Dixie Fire School this weekend and received 16 crucial hours of training. We are proud of all our firefighters and extra proud when they get out of their comfort zone and go to fire schools for training. Congratulations Makaylah, you put in the hard work this weekend.
