This week we recognize the men and women of EMS for the work they do every day. From the routine calls to the worst days someone may ever experience, EMS providers continue to answer the call no matter the time, weather, or circumstances.

The Loreauville Volunteer Fire Department is proud to work alongside dedicated EMS professionals who continue to serve our community with professionalism, compassion, and resilience.

The Loreauville Volunteer Fire Department and Volunteer Instructors from the Louisiana Department of Wildlife and Fisheries are concluding a Hunter Safety and Education Course, successfully instructing over 20 participants. It is encouraging to see a good number of people, especially younger individuals, completing the class with a strong understanding of safe practices, good hunting ethics and conservation goals.

This is a reminder about the Hunters Ed Class this Friday (6pm-8pm) and Saturday (8am-4pm). Class has been moved to the Loreauville Park Rec Building due to class size. We hope to see you all there!

A hunters education course hosted by Louisiana Department of Wildlife and Fisheries will be taking place at LVFD on May 1st & May 2nd.

While we are not under any type of fire watch or burn ban we would like to remind everyone about safe practices when burning outdoor fires.

Low humidity and persistent winds today can be a driving factor into fire spread and unpredictability. Only natural materials are allowed to be burned such as leaves, sticks, trees, etc. Materials such as plastics, rubber, metal, furniture, etc are never allowed to be burned.

Fires must be supervised at all times while burning (no you can't leave to go to the gas station real quick or just down the road for a bite to eat).

Iberia parish is still under drought conditions (now D1 and parts in D2).
