Sheffield Township fire department wants to thank Veterans Who Care for donating a grill to our department. The fire department members enjoy cooking out when they are on duty. They wore out the previous grill that was a used hand me down.

The Sheffield Township fire department wants to thank the community that came out to support us at our Steak fry. The out pour of support from the area businesses in raffles and donations is greatly appreciated.
The dinner started out with a little excitement with a down pour, some hail, high winds and a tornado warning. . After dinner we had a visit from Metro life flight that stopped in and our guests had a chance to see a helicopter up close and talk to the crew.

On Aug 18th, Sheffield Township fire department had the opportunity to train with other mutual aid departments on water relay. Hosted by Amherst fire department, we practice on how to receive water from tanker trucks to Keep a good water supply in areas where hydrants don't exist or are low flowing. Another great opportunity to work with neighboring departments and working together.

On Aug 19th, Sheffield Township fire department hosted a training at an acquired house with Elyria Township Fire Department. Training with mutual aid departments helps with team work and getting to know each other's department and working together as 1 team. Working at an actual house is a realistic setting.
