The following is a summary of legislation adopted by Lorain City Council on September 8, 2026. The following summary of legislation passed has been reviewed/approved by the Law Director for legal accuracy as required by state laws.
Reso. 30-26 Honoring the 2023-2024 Lorain High School Lady Titans, the first girls' high school flag football team in the history of the City of Lorain. 31-26 Honoring the life, legacy, and literary contributions of Toni Morrison. 32-26 Declaring Sept. 15 - Oct. 15, 2026, as Hispanic Heritage Month in the City of Lorain. 33-26 Recognizing September as Su***de Prevention Awareness Month in the City of Lorain. 34-26 Supporting submission of a Brownfield Remediation Grant application by IRG Lorain, LLC for the former Lorain Ford Plant redevelopment. Ord. 118-26* Authorizing the Clerk of Council to enter into a contract with Walter Drane Co. (American Legal) to update the Lorain Codified Ordinances. 119-26 Amending Exhibit A of Ordinance 46-26. (Vacating East Ave alley)
120-26* Approving the Police Chief, through the Mayor, to accept the FY25 Edward Byrne Memorial Justice Assistance Grant. 121-26* Auth the S/S Director to enter contract for the purchase of 81 Semtech XR60 5G modems & antennas from Brite Technologies not to exceed $223,641.00 of ARPA Funds. 122-26 Auth the S/S Director to purchase 11 L3 Harris XL-200P hand-held radios plus accessories for use by LPD from the City of Sheffield Lake. 123-26* Amending Ord. 011-26, auth the S/S Director to apply, accept & enter a WSRLA agreement for the construction of the Water Main Replacement Year 2 Project. 124-26* Auth the S/S Director to auth & purchase services for the procurement & installation of 1 grinder retrofit for the Black River WWTP. 125-26 Auth the S/S Director to enter into a contract with Speer Bros., Inc for the construction of the Year 2 Water Main Replacement Project. 126-26* Amending Ord 9-26, auth the S/S Director to enter into a WPCLF agreement for the construction of the new Martin Run Pump Station. 127-26* Auth & directing the S/S Director to enter into an agreement to procure playground equipment to enhance Pawlak Park. 128-26* Assessing the cost of abating nuisance by removing litter & deposit of garbage, rubbish, junk, etc. 129-26 Approving the proposed MOU between the City and 6621 (Civil Service Admin Asst.). 130-26* Auth the S/S Director to enter into a contract with the Dept. of Transportation for the bridge lighting upgrades to LED on Henderson Bridge. 131-26 Auth the S/S Director to accept & enter agreement with ODOT on behalf of the city for grant funding to construct the 2029 SRTS Project. 132-26* Auth the S/S Director to enter contract for the former St. Joseph Hospital demolition project. 133-26 Auth the S/S Director to ratify the acceptance & implement an agreement for grant funding from ODOD for the Pellet Terminal Brownfield Redevelopment Gap Funding Project. 134-26 Auth the S/S Director to purchase 2 Barracuda III Model 6096 Fish Cleaning Stations at a cost not to exceed $167,500.00. 135-26* Auth the County Auditor to transfer the CRA Tax Abatement from Campana Development IV, LLC, to North Star Commercial Holdings, LLC.
136-26* Auth the Auditor to pay invoices submitted by the Utilities Dept. that invoke the Then and Now Certification Exception Process. 137-26* Auth the Auditor to pay an invoice submitted by LPD that invokes the Then and Now Cert.
