This afternoon, Loogootee Fire Department responded to an emergency call involving a male patient who sustained an arm injury while working a vehicle. Upon arrival, Deputy Branham of the Martin County, Indiana Sheriff's Office had already successfully applied a tourniquet to control severe bleeding.
Subsequent investigation revealed the vehicle had shifted off its jack stand, causing a deep laceration to the patient's forearm. Following transport by Martin County Ambulance Services, LFD personnel remained on-site to lift the vehicle off the ground, safely returning it to an additional jack stand provided by the neighbor to eliminate any remaining hazards.
The Loogootee Fire Department prides itself on delivering exceptional community service, consistently going above and beyond to ensure safety and peace of mind for our citizens.
