Friday was a special day at Asbury House! Our 56 students went home with their very first From Our House to Yours bags! 🏠🛍️

A HUGE thank you to Junior League of Longview, Inc for the generous grant that helped make this program possible. Because of your support, we are able to send a little extra love and support home with our families.

This is what community looks like, and we are so thankful to have you as part of ours!

Oh hey its me! Surprise!!!😉 Introducing your 2026-2027 VP of Communications:

✨Christa Howard✨

🔹 Although born and raised in Longview, Christa actually spent her Provisional year in Nashville,TN. She quickly made her way back home though and is going into her fourth year with the Junior League!
🔹 The experiences and connections are what make her favor the league so much. "In my different roles, I have gained valuable skills that have helped me personally and professionally in ways I never thought possible."
🔹 Christmas is her favorite holiday so there is no surprise that working the Christmas in the Pineywoods holiday market is her favorite memory. This is her second year on the committee but her third year being a part of the Christmas magic assisting as one of Santa's helpers!
🔹While living in Georgia for graduate school, Christa worked as an Extra in different TV shows and movies with one being Stranger Things.

"I'm excited to keep you all updated on the happenings with our fabulous league this year!"

Our very own Barbara York McClellan was recognized at the Longview Walk of Honor on August 29th - what an achievement!

🌟⭐️🌟

Described as a music educator, culinary writer, and theater champion, there is nothing she hasn’t done. Barbara has filled many positions for the city of Longview including involvement in the Junior League of Longview, Theatre Longview, Arboretum and Nature Center, and Longview Museum of Fine Arts… just to name a few.

Some of our members had the opportunity to cheer her on as well and hear her speak on experience working at the Bargain Box while in the league.

Thank you for all you have done to help this city prosper Barbara! We are so proud of this magnificent honor you greatly earned!

Just a few more friendly faces before the board is complete! It is time to introduce our 2026-2027 Sustaining Advisor:

🍍Lori Danielson🍍

🔹 Born and raised in Longview, Lori is no stranger to the league. She actually was an active for 10 years before sustaining ... now going for year 6!
🔹 Lori truly treasures all of the relationships she has made during her time throughout the league but her favorite memory is when she co-chaired the Longview 150 Ball! What a monumental and wonderful celebration in our city to be a part of!
🔹 If she is not helping the league, you may find her taking care of her pet chickens! A gal who loves humans AND animals!

The Junior League of Longview is SO excited to welcome all of our new provisionals for this upcoming 2026-2027 year!

From having their new member retreat exploring parts of Longview, attending their very first general meeting with actives and sustainers, and diving into seeking opportunities to help the community- these girls are ready to GROW!!

The mission for these ladies is special!
Our theme this year is Gardens, and it’s the perfect picture of what Junior League is all about.
No beautiful garden blooms overnight. It takes planting seeds, watering them, patience, and people willing to care for them. That’s exactly what this year will be for each of them. Today they’re planting seeds that will grow into friendships, confidence, leadership, and opportunities to make a lasting impact throughout Longview and the league.

We can’t wait to see how these women change ETX in the upcoming months!

Starting off the day bright with the introduction of our 2026-2027 Recording Secretary:

🌟 Dr. Tiffany Turner🌟

🔹 Born in Plano, Tiffany made her way down to Longview to where she is going into her 6th year with the Junior League!
🔹 "Getting to know different people & places in Longview I wouldn’t have the opportunity for otherwise." is what drew her to the league!
🔹 Of all of her favorite memories, Tiffany recalls working the school supply train as a provisional following COVID as her top!
🔹Through her medical training, Tiffany actually worked in Peru for a month during residency!

You have always had a heart for helping others around you Tiffany - keep your light shining!

What a wonderful day as our JL President Chandalyn went to support The Martin House Children's Advocacy Center during their Blessing of the Beams Event.

The new building is now covered in love, prayers, and supportive messages to welcome any individual who comes through the doors!

Thank you for having us and we wish you the best of luck with the final construction! Our families and children in the community are fortunate to have an organization who has so much hope for the future!
