✨ Impact Friday ✨

Every child deserves someone in their corner.

On Impact Friday, we'll be sharing stories that highlight the difference advocates make in the lives of youth and families involved in the child welfare system. From overcoming barriers and celebrating milestones to building connections and creating stability, these moments show the power of advocacy in action.

Want to make a lasting impact in a child's life? Become a volunteer advocate and help ensure every child has a voice and someone looking out for their best interests.

🏳️‍🌈 Pride Month is a time to celebrate LGBTQIA+ youth and raise awareness of the challenges they often face.

LGBTQIA+ youth are overrepresented in foster care and frequently experience more placements, and greater housing instability. These statistics remind us how important supportive adults and affirming communities can be.

If you're a young person who is questioning, coming out, or simply looking for support, these organizations can help:
• The Trevor Project
• PFLAG
• Glisten
• LGBT National Help Center National Help Center

If you're supporting a youth, remember:
❤️ Listen without judgment
❤️ Use their chosen name and pronouns
❤️ Let them lead conversations about their identity
❤️ Help connect them with affirming resources and communities

Every young person deserves to feel safe, accepted, and loved.

🌈 Happy Pride Month! 🌈

At Cowlitz and Clark County Child Advocates, we believe every child deserves to feel safe, supported, valued, and seen for who they are.

This Pride Month, we celebrate the strength, resilience, and diversity of LGBTQ+ youth, families, volunteers, and community members. We are committed to advocating for the best interests of all children in foster care and creating spaces where every young person knows they belong.

Together, we can help ensure that every child has caring adults in their corner and a community that embraces them exactly as they are.

Thankful Thursday

Our Volunteer Guardians ad Litem show up for children in foster care with compassion, consistency, and advocacy when it matters most. Through court hearings, difficult conversations, school meetings, and moments of uncertainty, they help ensure every child’s voice is heard and their best interests remain at the center.

Because of our volunteers, children have one more trusted adult standing beside them.

Interested in making a difference in the life of a child? Our next volunteer training cycle begins July 6th. Apply today: childadvocatescc.org/volunteers/
