What an incredible turnout for last night’s First Responder Night!

The weather cooperated as everyone enjoyed local vendors and food trucks serving up delicious eats all night. K9 Reuben and his fellow four-legged officers completely stole the show with impressive live demonstrations for a packed crowd. Meanwhile, the National Guard brought out military vehicles to explore, alongside an obstacle course and bounce house that were huge hits with the kids. To top it off, the LFD and Bach Towing gave a fascinating live demo on how vehicle extrications and towing recoveries are performed.

Thank you to everyone in the community who came out to support our First Responders. From our Dispatchers, Police, Fire, Military, and Roadside Safety, we truly appreciate you!

A flat tire can turn a routine drive into a pretty frustrating afternoon. Fortunately, Officers Goodhue and Cecchini were nearby and happy to lend a hand.

Just another example of our officers helping out. Not every call involves a crime, but every call is an opportunity to serve our community. Great job, guys!

Please join us in welcoming our newest police officer to the Longmeadow Police Department!

Officer Hanna Minardi graduated from the MPTC Holyoke Police Academy (6th ROC) on Friday, July 31, 2026. The graduation ceremony was held at UMass Amherst, where Officer Minardi joined 45 fellow graduates in proudly taking the oath of office after successfully completing the Academy's demanding 22-week training program. Each graduate was then pinned with their badge, marking the beginning of their law enforcement career.

We extend our sincere appreciation to the MPTC staff and instructors for their dedication, leadership, and commitment to preparing these new officers for the challenges and responsibilities of serving their communities.

One of the most meaningful moments of the ceremony came when Hanna was pinned by her father, Retired Air Force Sergeant Joseph Minardi.

Officer Minardi is a graduate of Longmeadow High School and earned her Master's degree in Criminal Justice from Westfield State University. She will now begin the Department's eight-week Field Training Program before transitioning to solo patrol duties serving the residents of Longmeadow.

We are honored to welcome Officer Minardi to our ranks and look forward to the professionalism, dedication, and service she will bring to our community.

Congratulations, Officer Minardi!
