Long Lake Volunteer Fire Department

Long Lake Volunteer Fire Department At Long Lake Vol. Fire department, our mission is to provide the highest level of emergency services to our community.

We are dedicated to protecting lives, property, and the environment through effective fire prevention, education, and response. Located in the Northwoods of Wisconsin, Long Lake Fire EMS is an all-volunteer department serving approximately 450 year-round residents and many more seasonal visitors. With various levels of firefighter and/or EMS training and certifications, our 21 unpaid members are well-qualified to provide professional and timely response to fire, rescue, medical, and hazardous materials emergencies. Long Lake Volunteer Fire Department was founded in 1976 by citizens of Long Lake, Florence County, Wisconsin and is funded by a combination of local tax revenue, state revenue, donations, and grants. While many things have changed over the past 40+ years, one thing remains the same: our commitment and dedication to providing the best possible emergency services response to those who rely on us.

🔥 FUEL THE FIREFIGHTERS! 🔥

A HUGE thank you to Roadhouse 139 and John & Dawn Lord for sponsoring our September firefighter training meal! ❤️🚒

Your generosity is a wonderful example of great community service and support for the volunteers who serve our community. Having a meal together before training means a lot to our firefighters—and your support helps Fuel the Firefighters in more ways than one!

Thank you, John & Dawn, and Roadhouse 139, for investing in our firefighters and our community! 🇺🇸🚒

Neighbors helping neighbors—that’s what community is all about! ❤️

🚒 June Safety Awareness Month

Fire Extinguisher Safety

Remember the PASS Method:

🅿️ Pull the pin
🅰️ Aim at the base of the fire
🆂 Squeeze the handle
🆂 Sweep side to side

🔥 Check your fire extinguishers monthly:
✔️ Easily accessible
✔️ Pressure gauge in the green zone
✔️ No visible damage
✔️ Know how to use it before an emergency

A fire extinguisher can stop a small fire from becoming a disaster—but only if it’s ready when you need it.
