The Hunters Point Parks Conservancy’s mission is to enhance and advocate for the green spaces and waterfront of Long Island City, Queens, and to ensure the parks remain an indispensable asset to the community. GOALS
· Assist the management and staff of Gantry Plaza State Park, Hunters Point South Park and other parks and green spaces in hunters point in the maintenance and upkeep of the par
ks and street trees in the neighborhood.
· Organize and support special events and activities in the parks.
· Enhance artistic, play and recreational opportunities in the area.
· Monitor potential problems, inform authorities and advocate for and assist with solutions.
· Educate the community about the environmental concerns of the waterfront in Hunters Point in order to preserve and enhance the parks, neighborhood, and waterways.
· Encourage the improvement and expansion of publicly accessible green and open space in Hunters Point.
