📢The Arlington Heights Road project is now 90% complete! In the past week, landscaping was finished in the center medians and the outer lanes on the bridge were prepared for waterproofing and resurfacing. 🚧

Traffic remains in the outer lanes, and daily shifts will occur depending on the needs of the project. There will be delays during milling and paving in the next week due to many trucks, personnel, and equipment. Please be safe and drive with caution. 🦺

🚧During the May 12 Board Meeting, the Board of Trustees approved the 2026 Road Maintenance program. 🚧

This year's resurfacing program includes
▪️Checker Road (from 1711 Brookside to 500 feet west of Arlington Heights Rd)
▪️Hampton Drive (from IL Route 22 to Port Clinton Road)
▪️Tall Oaks Drive (from IL Route 22 to Port Clinton Road)
▪️Installation of two permanent speed tables on Checker Road

🚧💧🚦💧The Village of Long Grove will begin work on the Aptakisic Road Water Main Extension Project Monday, June 8, 2026, weather permitting.

As part of the project, a new 12" water main from the existing water main at the Sunset Grove parking lot and extending east along Aptakisic Road will be installed. The new water main will connect to the future Long Grove Fire Protection District location at 5161 Aptakisic Road.

Please note that full road closures are not permitted as part of the water main project; however, daily lane closures on Aptakisic Road will occur. Lane closures are only allowed between 9:00 AM and 3:00 PM.

We'll keep the community posted as the project continues. Your patience is appreciated during this time. The project is expected to be complete by August 31, 2026.

🌾🌱The Long Grove-Kildeer Garden Club hosts their next meeting on Monday, June 9, at 10 AM. Planting native grasses supports local ecosystems, enhances landscape aesthetics, and requires less maintenance than traditional lawns. Native grasses are also well-adapted to our local climate and soil conditions, resulting in less watering, fertilizer, and pesticides. Join us to learn how they play a vital role in supporting local wildlife as well! 🌱
