The members of FMBA Local 68 would like to congratulate Battalion Chief Carl Griffin on his award received this morning from the Monmouth County Fire Marshal’s Office. Chief Griffin was recognized for his actions as the Incident Commander of a multiple alarm fire in the city last month that brought in over 40 fire units.

Today marked an exciting milestone as members completed the first full class delivered by our newly established Joint Training Division.
Formed in 2026, the division is led by Asbury Park Fire Department Battalion Chief Pasquariello and Long Branch Fire Department Captain Griffin, bringing together experience and leadership from both departments to strengthen regional training and operational readiness.

The inaugural course, High-Rise Operations, brought together approximately 60 members from across the departments and consisted of over 48 hours of hands-on and classroom training. Participants worked through critical high-rise firefighting strategies, coordination, and operational procedures designed to enhance safety and effectiveness on complex incidents.

This marks the beginning of a collaborative training effort focused on building stronger, better-prepared firefighters through shared knowledge, experience, and teamwork.
