3. The administrators on this page are subject to constant updates to our Social Media Policies & Procedures. As a result, the page content, security settings, etc. may change accordingly.
4. Advertising for any private or personal events, products, pages or otherwise is strictly prohibited on this page. The administrators of this page are limited to sharing information from trusted, nationally or otherwise governmentally recognized Law Enforcement Agencies, Public Safety Organizations, Municipal and State Offices. In addition, we may share information from some local organizations and businesses, as well as the media.
5. It is our goal to provide the appropriate credit for use of shared information, photographs, graphics, etc. If the source is known, we will attach a credit. We, in no way, claim the rights or take the credit for any shared art or information if there is no credit note attached. Content that we share on this site may be limited in conformance with HIPAA, Civil and other privacy rights as well as in the case of active investigations.

On May 27, 2026, at the Annual MOCIB Valor Awards luncheon, he was honored with the Sgt. Patrick King #167 Medal of Honor.

The 43rd Annual NJ Law Enforcement Torch Run for Special Olympics will once again enter our city on the morning of Friday, June 5, 2026, at the old Sunoco Gas Station on Norwood Ave. The route takes runners past Monmouth University onto Monmouth Road to the West Long Branch Shoprite. Officers from will proudly participate in the run, carrying the "Flame of Hope".
More than 3,000 officers take to the streets of their local communities on one of 26 separate routes to help carry the "Flame of Hope" a distance of nearly 750 miles throughout the Garden state to raise funds and awareness for Special Olympics New Jersey each year.

Please join us in welcoming our newest Police Officer, Julius Nevarez #437!
Officer Nevarez grew up in Staten Island, NY before moving to NJ, and graduating from Old Bridge High School in 2023.

PO Nevarez began his career with the City of Long Branch Police Department as a seasonal Special Law Enforcement Officer Class I in the summer of 2025. He was hired as a full-time Police Officer on May 21, 2026, graduated the police academy on May 28, 2026, and signed his official oath of office on May 29, 2026.

PO Nevarez was inspired to pursue a career in law enforcement by his two uncles in NYPD. One uncle retired several years ago and one was recently promoted to Detective. His goal is to build a successful career in law enforcement and make a positive impact within the community of Long Branch. His hobbies include body-building and spending time with his loved ones.
