Good afternoon! I would like to get a general idea of Residents in Long Beach who are:

1) Not lifting but still have repairs that need to be done to their home

2) Those that have lifted but have not been able to move in because they are in need of funding.

3) As well as those that have completed all repairs and are ready to move back into their home but now do not have the funding for furniture, appliances, etc...

Example:

1)You have decided not to lift but you still have Sheetrock repair, painting, etc that remains

2)You have lifted your home but have not been able to yet move back because you do not have the funds to finish a bathroom, kitchen, paint, stairs, etc

If you do not want to publicly comment please pm me via Facebook or email me [email protected]

Thank you,

Insights & Strategies for Homeowner’s & Flood Insurance - April 4, 2017
Long Beach Public Library 7PM-9PM

Our Speaker: Scott M. Primiano, The Insurance Advocates, Inc.

Knowing the right thing to do with your homeowner’s and flood insurance and when to do it is a necessary part of the never-ending storm recovery story. Making good insurance decisions depends upon accurate information, your personal situation, and your plans for the future.
Too many of us remain overwhelmed and mystified by the bits and pieces of information and opinions we pick up from a bevy of sources.
In an effort to do the right thing, we end up under or over insured, paying too much, and as confused as ever.
Here’s a chance to remove the mystery and the mythology of flood and homeowners insurance.
Together we will learn:
Why insuring coastal homes is so challenging and what we can do about it.
How homeowner’s and flood insurance is priced and why.
Who needs builder’s risk insurance when elevating and why.
Strategies for reducing insurance costs without reducing coverage.
The future of insurance for the South Shore.

After speaking to NYRISING today, below are the requirements for the interim inspection in September 2017:

Inspector Observations: (Check all that Apply-only. House must be in the air to pass inspection)

•House on Cribbing

•Demolition of Old Foundation

•Foundation / Footing Being Formed

•Foundation / Footing Poured

•House on New Foundation

•Elevation Work Actively Underway at Time of Inspection

One of the above would need to be in place at the time of the interim inspection.

We have received confirmation on the following topic-

The interim payment is being increased from 75% to 90% for most cases. This means Residents will only have 10% of their award to wait for at their Final Payment. These payments should start in early March. NYRISING is working on how to implement this additional payment. I will update Residents as I receive further information.
