Middle School Counselor Position Available

This position is responsible to collaborate and work closely with the IVA Middle School Principal and Dean of Students to support the social-emotional wellbeing for all students at IVA. This includes, but is not limited to, supporting students’ social emotional needs, addressing behavior and discipline through restorative processes, providing individual and group counseling, implementing specialized program interventions, acting as a community resource liaison and providing attendance intervention support. The role of this position is to provide and supervise interventions that support the needs of the individual within the community.

IVA hires educators in every position who are passionate about their content area and desire meaningful and ongoing growth in their own personal intellectual character. It is our desire that every member of our community flourishes. The Counselor functions as a valuable thought-partner working closely with the leadership team to implement the school’s intellectual character mission and vision. This position requires an implementation of IVA’s values related to the functions listed in the job description and provides an opportunity to be a part of transformational and rewarding education that impacts the lives of our educators, students, and the IVA community.

Today’s 6th Grade Orientation was full of fun, tie-dye, and new friendships. We enjoyed meeting our newest students and families and can’t wait to see you all again on the first day of school this Tuesday!

IVA's trained Student Leaders are excited to welcome prospective students to learn about our middle school. Mark your calendars to join this interactive student event created to help incoming students ask questions, get to know one another, and begin creating a culture of thinking and play together. All prospective students and their friends are welcome. No rsvp needed.

This is a chance for YOUR student to experience our community first-hand, to ask questions, learn more from current students, and imagine what middle school will be like at IVA.
