Our last spotlight is former Vice President, Joe Biden. Biden was born in SCRANTON (what?) the electric city! He attended the University of Delaware where he double majored in Political Science and History. He played on a football team as a college freshman. Biden went on to attend the Syracuse University College of Law. Fun fact: Biden considered law school to be “the biggest bore in the world.” He went on to become a senator.

Today’s spotlight is the junior senator from Vermont, Bernie Sanders. Sanders studied at Brooklyn College for a year then transferred to the University of Chicago where he majored in Political Science. While in college, Sanders was an active member of the Civil Rights Movement. He was a member of the the Congress of Racial Equality (CORE) and the Student Nonviolent Coordinating Committee (SNCC) both of which participated in political activism such as sit-ins against segregation. In fact, Sanders was fined for resisting arrest at a demonstration against segregation in Chicago schools.
