Thank you to the Assembly and Senate for voting this week to include $30 million for the program in the 2026 CA Budget!

We are especially grateful to Senator John Laird and Assemblymember Jesse Gabriel for their leadership in the budget process! Thank you so much to Assemblymembers Robert Rivas, Mike Fong, Corey Jackson, Stephanie Nguyen, and Alex Lee, and Senators Monique Limón, Aisha Wahab, and Christopher Cabaldon, and the entire AAPI Legislative Caucus, for your leadership in taking a stance against hate in California. ✊

πŸ“£ We urge Governor Gavin Newsom to include the Stop the Hate program in the final California 2026 budget. In 2021, California led the fight against hate with the historic API Equity Budget, and now the state must continue to invest in social safety net programs. Everyone deserves to live, love, work, pray, and play freely and without fear. Funding Stop the Hate is critical in ensuring safety and belonging for ALL Californians. 🧑
