Zombies: Reclaiming the Self Through Art & Community
Building on the conversations begun through Rumduol 2025, Zombies explores Cambodian American history and the diverse experiences of Southern California communities through themes of identity, trauma, resilience, belonging, and healing.
Using the zombie as a metaphor, artists explore how war, displacement, political unrest, division, and harmful narratives can disconnect us from ourselves and one another—and what it means to resist, reclaim our voices, and reconnect.
Through art, storytelling, and creative expression, Zombies invites us to acknowledge difficult histories while celebrating creativity, resilience, connection, and hope.

Zombies is not only about trauma. It is about what we do with it—and how we transform our experiences into art, dialogue, healing, and community.
