This is what happens when people are given the tools, support, and confidence to believe in their vision?

They stop dreaming about entrepreneurship… and START building it. ✨

We at the Long Beach Small Business Development Center so inspired by the graduates of the 6-week Maker to Market program pictured here at Long Beach City College.

These new entrepreneurs didn’t just learn business theory… they rolled up their sleeves and brought their ideas to life.

Thanks to our expert Business Advisors: Kari Armstrong, Charlie Lowe and Mike Huntley.

From business planning and product sourcing to marketing and selling at local farmers markets, night markets, and swap meets, this program helps aspiring business owners move from overwhelmed to empowered.

And the best part?
All 14 participants officially launched their own businesses by graduation day. 🙌🏽

Watching them showcase their products and services at the graduation event was such a beautiful reminder that success with ease and grace starts with taking the first step.

A huge congratulations to the incredible SBDC advisors Karie Armstrong, Charlie Lowe, and Mike Huntley for mentoring these future business owners every step of the way.

This is what community impact looks like.
This is what economic empowerment looks like.
And this is what happens when people are supported in turning their vision into reality.

Next stop: local markets, new customers, and continued growth on their entrepreneurial journey. 🚀

Which dream or business idea have YOU been putting off? This might be your sign to start. Let the Long Beach Small Business Development Center help you get started. Visit our website in the bio.

Tip Tuesday🙌

Audit your online presence like a first-time customer.
Search your business name and look at what comes up. Visit your website, click your links, read your reviews, and check your social profiles.
Ask yourself:
Is it clear what you offer?
Is the information up to date?
Is it easy to take the next step?
Small fixes—like updating your bio, fixing broken links, or refreshing photos—can make a big difference in how professional and trustworthy your business feels.
Sometimes growth isn’t about doing more… it’s about improving what’s already there.

Posting consistently is great… but posting with a plan is what actually drives results.🤔

If your marketing feels scattered or inconsistent, it might be because there’s no clear path for your customer to follow.🤗

Think beyond individual posts and start looking at the full journey:

😃How people find you, what keeps their attention, what helps them decide, and what brings them back again.
When each step is intentional, your marketing stops feeling random—and starts working together to move people forward.

Take a few minutes this week to map it out. You might be closer to a strategy than you think.🙌
