Our Preparation For Employment Program was designed with a comprehensive array of services to not only prepare clients for the workforce, but to also teach them the skills necessary to maintain jobs with livable wages. The participants of this program include recently unemployed and those at risk for unemployment, welfare recipients, the working poor, displaced homemakers, senior citizens returning to the workforce and others who lack the basic educational and vocational skills necessary to join, re-enter, or advance in today’s competitive business environment. In order to address the needs of the increasing number of unemployed residents in Long Beach and surrounding communities, we plan to expand the Preparation for Employment program to provide additional outreach to this population. The Preparation for employment Program utilizes a comprehensive proven model which focuses on developing long–term solutions and plans including job training, further education and employment.
