March was a busy and meaningful month at the drop-in center, as we continued to provide consistent support to our unhoused neighbors. Throughout the month, we served a total of 833 hot meals, offering not only nourishment but also a welcoming space where individuals could find connection and community.
One of the most memorable highlights of the month was a special visit from Ken Medema, whose presence brought an incredible sense of joy to the drop-in center. Through his music and heartfelt performance, he created a moment that many of our guests will not soon forget. Several individuals were moved to personally thank him, sharing their appreciation not only for his musical talent but also for his genuine warmth and compassion. It was a powerful reminder of how meaningful connection and kindness can be.
In addition to our weekly meal service, we continued to distribute groceries to seniors and families, adjusting each week as we witness increases mainly to our seniors.
We are deeply grateful to our dedicated staff, volunteers, and partners, especially First Congregational Church of Long Beach, whose continued support makes this work possible. Your generosity and commitment allow us to serve with consistency, dignity, and care.
