I am more than honored to have been designated as a Gun Sense Candidate by LI Moms Demand Action, an incredible organization that is never afraid to stand firm for this cause at the county, state and national level.

Taking action against gun violence in the United States is something I’ve cared deeply about for quite some time, as I’m sure most of you have, particularly as it appears to become more and more of an almost unquestioned assumption in American life.

And I’m also sure that for any of you who have children, you’d also agree that the potency, the immediacy, the tragedy of this senseless problem is multiplied tenfold the day you become a parent.

So as legislator, I will fight tooth and nail to pass and advocate for common sense gun legislation, and to do my part in putting an end to this very solvable American issue.

Happy Fourth, everybody!

As the Great American Experiment turns 250 years old today, I can’t help but reflect on the brilliant notion of “While I may not agree with what you have to say, I’ll defend to the death your right to say it.” While it’s a great principle in and of itself, I think it embodies something bigger, richer and deeply American: that a nation this great, and this ambitious, can only ever be a constant work in progress, and that that progress only comes from We the People giving voice to the changes that we want to see it embrace; because when you love something deeply, you’ll never stop fighting for it to be as great as it possibly can be.

There are more American contributions to the world to be proud of than could possibly fit into one post, and I’m deeply proud of every single one of them. But I think what I’m most proud of today is the fact that this was a country founded — two and a half centuries ago — by a bunch of people who’d had enough, and weren’t going to be shy about it.

So today, I ask you to acknowledge and remember to exercise a privilege afforded far too few — your right to push back and fight for a better future for all who are fortunate to call this great country home. 🇺🇸

Proud to be running alongside my friend from law school, Mike Pentola for County Legislator. We started this journey years ago as classmates studying the law, and today we’re both fathers committed to serving our communities and building a better future for the next generation.

I’m grateful to share this experience with someone I respect both professionally and personally. Looking forward to the work ahead and to earning the trust of the people we hope to represent.

I was honored to be invited to attend yesterday morning’s service at Christian Light Missionary Baptist Church in Long Beach, and was both moved and inspired by the warmth and welcoming spirit of the congregation. Growing up Catholic myself, I truly believe that all faiths and denominations have vital and life affirming lessons to teach us all, and I was deeply moved by the profound words of Bishop Isaac R. Melton II, and his theme “A Chosen Man,” focusing on men in particular and their collective and individual journeys toward betterment and spiritual fulfillment.

Thank you all for having me — truly can’t wait to return.
