Quartz Mountain State Park

Quartz Mountain State Park For generations, families have escaped to the beautiful shores of Lake Altus-Lugert for outdoor adventure.

From exploring mountains to strolling sandy beaches, Quartz Mountain has something for everyone! In addition to water sports, our lake is primarily used for irrigation. Before heading to the park, guests are invited to check current lake levels at this link -

It is officially fawn season! ❤️🦌
IMPORTANT REMINDERS ‼️
1. Do not kidnap or “help” fawns!
As you drive around the park you may see a lone fawn. This is completely normal! The mothers will pick a spot they deem safe and leave their fawn there by itself. Sometimes the mother will leave their fawn for up to 24 hours. They are NOT abandoned. The mother will eventually come back to nurse it and move it to a new spot.
2. Do NOT feed the deer or fawns!
Fawns especially have delicate digestive systems. Feeding them can easily kill them or make them sick.
3. Do not touch or try to move fawns.
Fawns are born scentless. This is an amazing survival mechanism that makes it very hard for predators to find them. Touching them or letting your pets touch them ruins this. Admire them from a safe distance and let mom do her job.
