At 0946 this morning, East Bernstadt Fire Department was dispatched by London-Laurel County 911 Center to a residential structure fire on Highway 490. Crossroads Fire Department was dispatched for automatic mutual aid and London City Fire Department was requested for additional manpower. First arriving firefighters arrived on scene to find an abandoned residential structure with heavy fire and smoke showing. Firefighters contained the fire to the residence of origin. No injuries were reported on the scene. Also on the scene was Ambulance Inc. Of Laurel County.

Tonight several firefighters went to East Bernstadt Church of God, to show the kids some of our fire trucks during their VBS week. We are always grateful and excited to get the chance to show our future generations what we do! Thank you for having us!

At 14:59 hrs, firefighters were requested to respond to a mutual aid request in Rockcastle County from Mount Vernon Fire Department, for a semi trailer that was on fire and had cargo on board at the 53 mm northbound on I-75. EBFD responded with multiple apparatus’s. All departments on scene worked together to extinguish the fire. No injuries were reported on the scene. Also on the scene was Brodhead Fire Department. We are thankful for our continued good working relationships we have with our neighboring departments!
