The City of London

The City of London This is the official page of the City of London, Kentucky. Located in Laurel County, Ky.

London's location and relatively low cost of living have helped make our city a "Vacation Crossroads" and a center for business, shopping, entertainment, education and health-care. London also enjoys a sound base of industrial and retail business, and our schools are exemplary. Moderately priced housing, low utility costs, a moderate climate and proximity to huge forests, beautiful lakes, tourist attractions and the metropolitan areas of Lexington and Knoxville combine to make London a very special place for visitors, new residents, and business opportunities. We hope you'll visit us and find the friendly faces and spirit that will make you want to call London home!

Today, the Daughters of the American Revolution joined Mayor Tracie Handley in recognizing September 17, 2026, as the 239th anniversary of the framing of the Constitution of the United States of America, making September 17 through September 23 Constitution Week.

This is a time to reflect on the importance of our Constitution and the privileges of being an American!

Want to win your youth group a free Finley's Fun Center skate party for 20?

Join us at Town Center Park this Friday, September 11, to watch the animated film King of Kings on the big screen. Every youth who attends will have the chance to put their church’s name into our drawing. The more youth in attendance means the more chances your church has to win. The winner will be chosen completely at random, so every church has a chance to win!

El Santo Taco, Ice Cream for Liam, Sips & Snacks 606, and London Downtown will be onsite starting at 7 p.m. for all your concession needs.

Bring a friend and a blanket or lawn chair, and join us in the park. The movie starts at dusk!

Films, Food, & Fun at Town Center Park continues:
September 18 – Freakier Friday
October 2 – Toy Story 5
October 9 – The Addams Family

***Statement from Mayor Tracie A. Handley***

What transpired this past Saturday morning (August 28th) is an example of how government should work.

I received a call from Paula Pennington Thompson with the London-Laurel Economic Development Authority regarding a situation at our local Zaxbys Central KY Chicken restaurant that was prohibiting them from opening. With the help of County Judge Executive David Westerfield, Chantz McPeek , Ricky Evans, and Brandon Wagers and the London City Fire Department, we had Zaxby's cleared to open at 11:11 AM, 11 minutes later than their regular opening time, on a Saturday morning when government offices are closed. That is teamwork! Thank you to everyone who jumped in to help!
