Our goal is to transform Merri Mac Park into a community space that will include a new playground, revitalized ball fields & a new shelter house...and more! The story behind the park: Imagine this scene, Thursday 6:30 pm at the London City Council meeting, the President of Council asked the question, are there any audience concerns ? A father of 8, whose home sets adjacent to Merri Mac Park, asks
the question. “What are you going to do about Merri Mac Park?”
The room is silent for a moment. Some on the council did not know where Merri Mac Park was located. It has been in existence for over 40 years but the once vibrant and often used facility sets silent and unused today. If you have visited Merri Mac Park lately, you know that it’s significantly in need of a facelift. The 100 plus acres of city property is eager for life again. The park needs playground equipment; a new swing to replace the rusted one that still remains; the basketball courts need resurfacing and new hoops installed; the BMX track is overgrown with weeds and the baseball and softball fields are out of date. After over 40 years, you can see the park slowly deteriorated to what it is today. All is not lost! Coming to the rescue is a group of concerned citizens, who became the Merri Mac Park Miracle Board. Made up of parents, grandparents, city officials, church affiliates and local organizations, they have setout to help off-set the cost of rebuilding Merri Mac Park. Together we can! Alone we cannot! Be part of the plan to make it happen. Help make 2021 the year for the rebuilding of Merri Mac Park by giving your donation. You can donate today.
