I’m voting Casey Putsch because he’s against solar farming and Data centers. Just saying.

Hummmmm. I see Tony Xenikis name on the ballot running for Madison county commissioner. Please tell me he’s not in favor of solar farming!

This is what solar farming looks like after a tornado. Who pays for the damage?

Here we go again! This is all set in stone just like every other solar project. It’s silly to complain, you’ll only be told solar fields are nice looking, generate electricity and do no harm. The govenor, people on the Siting board don’t live near solar farms or substations but they vote for us to live among them.

Oak Run Solar Project:
The project will occupy approximately 6,050 acres of land. They say you can farm in between panels with teeny tiny tractors. What the land yields after most of the honeybees have been destroyed is anybody’s guess.

Potential harms to bees associated with solar fields:
Habitat loss: When large tracts of land, particularly grasslands or open fields, are developed for solar arrays, native flowering plants are often cleared and replaced with turfgrass or gravel. This removes critical foraging and nesting grounds for pollinators.
Pesticide use: To control weeds, some solar farms use pollinator-harming pesticides, which can turn a potential pollinator habitat into a "killing field".
Microclimate effects: The shade created by solar panels can reduce plant diversity and flower density underneath them. This can create areas with fewer food resources, discouraging pollinator activity.
Altered behavior: Some studies suggest that the electromagnetic fields (EMFs) from inverters and power lines can disorient bees and disrupt their pollination activities.
Reflective surfaces: Highly reflective panels have been known to disorient insects by mimicking the light reflected from water surfaces, which can lead to them becoming exhausted and dying.
