Please join the City of Lomita for a Memorial Day Celebration at Veteran's Park on Monday, May 25th at 8am. Following the celebration, refreshments will be provided at the Lomita VFW Post 1622. Doors open at 8:30am on Memorial Day.

Today, we recognize National Former POW Recognition Day and honor the American servicemembers who endured captivity during war.

Observed each year on April 9, this day marks the 1942 surrender of U.S. forces on the Bataan Peninsula and pays tribute to the resilience and strength of those who survived unimaginable conditions.

We remember their sacrifices and stand with their families. Their courage will never be forgotten. 🖤
