On this Memorial Day, Loma Linda Firefighters stand in remembrance of the heroes who gave their lives in service to our nation.

Today is more than a long weekend or the start of summer — it is a day to reflect on the extraordinary sacrifice made by generations of Americans who answered the call to serve and never returned home.

We honor their courage.
We remember their sacrifice.
We carry forward their legacy.

From our fire family to yours, please take a moment today to remember the fallen and support the families who continue to carry their memory. 🇺🇸

Forever grateful. Never forgotten.

This week, Loma Linda Fire firefighters responded to a single-vehicle rollover collision after a vehicle left the roadway and struck an electrical pole along Barton Road. The impact caused a complete shutdown of Barton in both directions while emergency crews worked to treat patients and secure the scene.

Two patients were transported to a nearby trauma center. We’re wishing those involved a full recovery. Please remember to slow down, stay alert, and drive safely.

While Loma Linda sleeps, your firefighters are still answering the call.

In the early hours of the morning, crews from Loma Linda Fire Department responded to assist on a 2-alarm commercial structure fire at a recycling yard in Colton.

MT251 is currently operating its elevated master stream alongside surrounding agencies as firefighters continue working to contain the fire.

Incidents like these require a coordinated regional response, and we’re thankful for all crews working together through the early morning hours to help protect lives and property.

The members of the Loma Linda Firefighters Association are proud to officially endorse Amy Jones for Loma Linda City Council.

Amy has consistently shown a commitment to public safety, community involvement, and supporting the people who serve this city every day. We’ve had the opportunity to work alongside her at community events and throughout our city, and we believe she has the leadership, professionalism, and vision to help move Loma Linda forward.

This election matters for the future of our community. We are proud to stand behind Amy Jones and will be supporting her campaign as we work to keep Loma Linda safe, strong, and moving in the right direction.

We encourage our residents to get out and vote June 2.

Many of you have reached out today after seeing the smoke from the Bain Fire burning in Riverside County. We understand the concern, and we want our residents to know that there is currently no immediate threat to Loma Linda.

Earlier today, ME252 was deployed as part of a San Bernardino County Type 1 Strike Team and is currently assigned to structure protection operations near the fire. Loma Linda firefighters are working alongside crews from across the state to help protect homes, neighborhoods, and critical infrastructure.

Incidents like this are a reminder of how quickly fire conditions can change across Southern California and how important it is to maintain strong fire protection resources, staffing, and emergency preparedness for our own community.

We’re grateful for the opportunity to serve not only our city, but neighboring communities when they need help most. Please continue keeping all affected residents and first responders in your thoughts as crews work through challenging conditions tonight.

Thank you, Loma Linda, for the continued support, prayers, and encouragement for your firefighters. 🚒

Over the last few weeks, you’ve probably heard a lot about Measure X.

What many people may not know is that more than 2,800 Loma Linda residents signed a petition to place Measure X on the June 2 ballot because they care deeply about the future of public safety in our community.

As firefighters and first responders, we see firsthand the growing demand for emergency services in our city. Today, Loma Linda has an unstaffed fire station while emergency calls continue to rise.

Measure X would help support 911 response, fire protection, paramedics, law enforcement, and wildfire prevention efforts that help keep our community safe.

We are proud to serve this community every day and respectfully ask for your support on June 2.

Vote YES on Measure X.

❤️🌹 Happy Valentine’s Day!!! 🌹❤️

One of our favorite traditions of the year is getting to celebrate Valentine’s Day delivering flowers to some of the wonderful ladies at our local retirement communities. It’s a simple gesture, but the smiles, stories, and warm hugs we receive in return mean more than we can say.

We truly look forward to this day every year. It’s a reminder that being part of this community goes far beyond responding to calls, it’s about connection, kindness, and showing up for one another.

We are extremely THANKFUL for Serrano Nursery generously donating the flowers and making this event possible. Your continued support allows us to brighten a few days and spread a little extra love throughout Loma Linda.

Happy Valentine’s Day from your Loma Linda firefighters! ❤️🚒

Tonight, we had the honor of celebrating Captain Bill Baker, who was recognized as Firefighter of the Year at the Loma Linda Chamber of Commerce Dinner.

Captain Baker’s leadership, integrity, and commitment to excellence make a real difference every single day. Since coming to the Loma Linda Fire Department, he has taken true ownership of this department, constantly pushing it forward and making it better for our firefighters and our community.

Beyond the fireground, Bill is deeply involved in so many areas that matter: the Firefighter Cancer Support Network, he is involved with recruitment, training and much more. He is always stepping up where help is needed and leading with purpose.

What made tonight even more special was seeing him celebrate this well deserved recognition alongside his kids. A powerful reminder that behind the badge is a dedicated father, son, friend and role model.

We are incredibly proud of you, Captain Baker. Your impact is felt far beyond tonight, and this honor is truly deserved.

After the response surrounding this call, we wanted to share something far more meaningful to us, a handwritten letter from the patient herself.

In her own words, she thanked the firefighters who saved her life, called them “angels,” and wrote about getting stronger every day — looking forward to walking, dancing, and living life fully again. After being told she had a 1% chance of survival, her recovery and gratitude are nothing short of remarkable.

We are deeply honored to have been part of her story and grateful beyond words for her strength and faith. Moments like this remind us that behind every call is a real person.

We also want to recognize that this outcome was the result of a true team effort, and we would like to acknowledge everyone involved in her care that day:

• BC Atchison
• Captain Crecelius
• Captain Buelna
• Engineer Cartee
• Engineer Hernandez
• FF/PM Myers
• FF/PM West
• AMR crews
• California Highway Patrol (CHP)
• And the dedicated dispatchers at our CONFIRE Communications Center

From the first call received to scene safety, extrication, transport, and trauma care - this was teamwork, trust, and training working together when it mattered most.

To the patient and her family: thank you for your words, your strength, and for allowing us to share this message. We continue to keep you in our thoughts and wish you nothing but health and happiness ahead.
