The Loganville Police Department has installed a NarcX collection box in our lobby for easy disposal of unused, unwanted or expired medications. You can dispose of pills and liquids safely at your convenience. It’s quick, easy and safe. It is available Monday - Friday, 8am -5pm, and personnel will be available to help if needed.

IN CUSTODY!

This morning, the Loganville Police Department and Gwinnett County PD SWAT arrested Evander Derrell Choates, 28 of Loganville for the murder of Kimberly Whaley in the CVS parking lot on November 14, 2025.

He has been charged with Felony Murder, Aggravated Assault and Possession of a Firearm During the Commission of a Felony. He has been booked into the Walton County Jail on these charges.

This has been a complex, demanding and frustrating case, but our Detectives and Officers never stopped in the pursuit of justice for the family of Kimberly Whaley.

Today marks the first step in that process.
