PUBLIC NOTICE UPDATE: The Weather Service has updated the Severe Thunderstorm Warning until 6:30 p.m. Weather Alert: A severe thunderstorm warning has been issued for the local area until 5:30 p.m. At 4:46 p.m., a line of severe thunderstorms was moving northeast at approximately 45 mph, capable of producing wind gusts up to 60 mph. The strongest storms are expected to move through Walton County during the late afternoon and early evening hours. Residents should remain weather-aware and be prepared for rapidly changing conditions. The National Weather Service warns that tornadoes can develop quickly from severe thunderstorms. Residents should remain alert and be prepared to move to shelter immediately if a tornado warning is issued or a tornado is spotted.

PUBLIC NOTICE: Weather Alert: The National Weather Service in Atlanta has issued a Wind Advisory in effect from 6 p.m. Thursday until 8 a.m. Friday for much of Georgia, including Walton, Gwinnett and surrounding counties. The Advisory is expected to end at 8 a.m. Friday. Forecasters expect southwest winds of 15 to 20 mph with gusts up to 35 mph, with some isolated areas potentially experiencing even stronger gusts overnight. This could blow around unsecured outdoor objects, bring down tree limbs, and lead to isolated power outages. Motorists, particularly those driving high-profile vehicles, are urged to use extra caution. Secure outdoor items that could blow around.

TRAFFIC ALERT UPDATE: The City of Loganville Fire Department is reporting that the crash in front of the Kroger has been cleared and all lanes are back open. However, the traffic light in front of the QT is still not functioning correctly and is causing delays. Officials with GDOT have been notified of the problem.

A Flood Watch is now in effect for much of the area Thursday into Friday as the remnants of a tropical disturbance cross the region. 2 to 4 inches of rain are forecast within the watch area, with locally higher amounts possible.
