LifeShare will be in Logansport this Saturday hosting a community blood drive at our Central Station, located at 300 Marshall Rd. Donation hours will be from 9:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m.

We invite you to join us and make a difference in someone’s life. Blood donations are always in critical need, and a single donation can help save multiple lives. Your willingness to give just a little of your time can have a lasting impact on our community.

Walk-ins are welcome, or you may scan the QR code below to schedule a convenient time for your donation.

After consultation with the local fire chiefs and the police Jury President, effective today, February 23, 2026, DeSoto Parish is under a burn ban. Once conditions improve we will let you all know something. Thank you and God Bless.

All of us at DeSoto Parish Fire District #1 would like to wish everyone a safe and happy New Year.

As you celebrate, please be aware that current weather conditions have significantly increased fire danger across our area. Dry grass and light brush have led to a noticeable increase in fires over the past several days, some of which have spread to nearby structures.

We urge everyone to use extreme caution this evening with any open flames or fireworks. In windy conditions, it only takes a single spark for a fire to spread rapidly and become uncontrollable.

Due to these conditions, a burn ban will be enacted for our area beginning tomorrow morning. We appreciate your cooperation and your help in keeping our community safe.

ALL PHONE LINES ARE NOW WORKING

All 911 and office Main Line phones for the DeSoto Parish Sheriff's Office are now tested and back up and working.

Due to a major fiber cut that is affecting all landline phones, residents will not be able to call 911 or our main office number. If you should have an emergency we have a cell phone setup in dispatch that you may call until it is resolved.
