It was an incredible moment today at the Logansport Board of Works and Public Safety meeting as members from our department, Logansport Police Department and Cass County EMS were awarded with a commendation today for their outstanding efforts on April 17th of this year, where the gentleman pictured here, Kelvin Kirchner’s, life was saved. Personnel involved were Captain/ EMT Levi Pullen, Probationary Firefighter Cade Krider, Firefighter/ EMT Kevin Smith(Not Pictured), Firefighter/ EMT Nathan LoCoco( who was off duty for LFD and on duty with Cass County EMS) Paramedic Holly Bishop of Cass County EMS, Corporal Tyler Preston(not pictured) and Officer Cody Graf, both with Logansport Police Department. We are proud of how well our department was represented and will continue to train diligently to have rewarding life saving experiences like this in the future. Excellent work to all involved!

We are super excited to announce our after-hours Saturday evening Keynote for the 2026 Winter Fire School!

January 31st, 2026
5:30 p.m. – 7:30 p.m. (EST)
MADE@Plainfield 1610 Reeves Road

Join us for an unforgettable evening with Tim Brown, a decorated 20-year FDNY firefighter and survivor of the 9/11 attacks. A first responder to multiple national tragedies—including the 1993 WTC bombing, Oklahoma City, and the Anthrax attacks—Tim brings a powerful message of courage, loss, and resilience. His keynote shares the raw reality of Ground Zero, the heroism of his fallen brothers, and his personal journey through trauma, grief, and healing. Today, Tim is a national voice for remembrance and recovery, serving on the boards of the National September 11th Memorial Trail and Missions of Honor, and volunteering with the Tunnel to Towers Foundation. His story is not just about survival—it’s about honoring sacrifice and finding light in the darkest moments.
