Logan Town Center is the traditional business and residential neighborhood at the heart of the City of Logan, the county seat of Hocking County. Logan Town Center comprises more than half of the area of the original town of Logan, platted in the summer of 1816 as a personal venture by former U.S. Senator Thomas Worthington, who was then finishing the first of two terms as Ohio's governor. The town

was named as a monument to Chief Logan of the Mingo Indians. Chief Logan was the author of Logan's Lament, made most famous by Thomas Jefferson in his Notes on the State of Virginia. Logan was established one mile below the "great falls" of the Hockhocking River, later known as the Hocking River. In 1840 the section of the Hocking Valley Canal passing through Logan (between th City and the Hocking River) was completed, connecting Logan through Lancaster with the Ohio Canal. The Hocking River, once provided a vital asset for industries that extracted the region’s natural resources such as coal, sandstone, iron, timber, oil and gas. Today, the river helps attract over 3 million visitors to the region to relax and enjoy the natural, artistic and cultural assets and rural lifestyle we have to offer visitors and residents. Main Street and the surrounding neighborhoods continue to be the center of business, government, fine historic homes, churches, and cultural and historical destinations in the Hocking Hills region of Ohio. Our Logan Town Center business district is anchored by the Hocking County District Library, the Hocking County Historical Museum, The Bowen House community arts and education center, and City and County government offices. It also provides unique destinations like the Washboard Factory, and friendly locally owned shops, restaurants and family friendly activities. Please note that events are not necessarily being hosted by Logan Town Center Inc., but are being promoted. Send mail to: P.O. Box 1053, Logan, Ohio 43138

A place to connect over shared interests can have a profound effect on our community's fabric. Logan football has long been a common thread, weaving people together in a shared experience like no other event. Fans unite, standing shoulder to shoulder, their love for the sport bridging divides. This sense of unity is a fundamental human desire. In a time of great division, let's find ways to connect on a local level, celebrating our community's strengths. At DLO, we aspire to be the catalyst for these moments. What places or events in downtown could ignite that Friday night feeling?

We love what Logan in Bloom represents and does for our downtown. They're kinda like our make up before going out into the public and we look and feel so much better because of them. Thank you for all that you do to put care into our downtown.

Don’t let the rain dampen your spirits this morning! Our small town is buzzing with activity despite the weather.
- The first farmers market of the season is open, offering fresh produce and local goodies.
- Plus, the recycling drop-off event is happening at the fairgrounds – a great opportunity to declutter and help the environment.
-Sifted and Sweet Baking Company has officially opened on Main Street!
-Hunter Street Saloon has a Sing along brunch starting at 11.
I’m sure we are missing other events and please tag those in the comments!
