Hocking County Early Childhood Department We offer two of Ohio's Help Me Grow programs:
Early Intervention and Home Visiting. Our Home Visiting program is an affiliate of
Healthy Families America.

Our programs serve children up to their third birthday. The Early Childhood Department of the Hocking County Board of Developmental Disabilities offers a variety of supports, resources and services to expectant mothers as well as children age birth to eight and their families. All services offered by the department are at no cost to the family. The following programs are offered: Early Interventio

n (birth to 3), Help Me Grow Home Visiting (prenatal and birth to 3), Service and Support Administration to children who qualify (3 years to 8 years). The Home Visiting programs offer expectant or new parents with information, support and encouragement through a voluntary, high-quality home visiting service. By supporting the positive interaction with children in stable and stimulating environments, the Home Visiting program seeks to create a sturdy foundation for future achievement (visit www.helpmegrow.ohio.gov for more information). The first achievements last a lifetime, as scientific evidence strongly suggests that a child’s success is significantly determined by the quality of nurturing in the first three years of life. Early Intervention assists families when there are concerns about a child's development. Families are offered a comprehensive play-based developmental evaluation and assessment to help determine whether Early Intervention services are needed. Services available include access to an Early Intervention team of professionals including a physical therapist, speech therapist, occupational therapist and developmental specialist. Referrals for other needed services dependent on child and family need/interest are also provided. Service and Support Administration is available through the Early Childhood Department for children 3 years up to 8 years who are eligible for services through the Hocking Co. 🔥 Urban Grille Steps Up — Free Meals for the Community! 🔥

You read that right, folks — Urban Grille at Hocking Hills Golf Club just joined the fight to feed our neighbors. Yesterday, our friends over at Hocking Hills Diner served more than 1,600 FREE MEALS — and when Urban Grille heard about it, they didn’t hesitate. They said, “We’re in. We want to help. Let’s do this!” 🍽️

That’s the kind of heart Southern Ohio is made of — no press releases, no politics, no strings attached. Just good people stepping up when it matters most. ❤️

Now listen — this isn’t about taking sides, making statements, or pointing fingers. This is simply about being a good human being. If someone’s hungry, let’s feed them. If someone needs help, let’s lend a hand. It’s that simple.

So here’s where Hocking Hills Tourist comes in: we’re calling on anyone and everyone who wants to help these amazing local businesses keep the free meals coming.

You can volunteer your time, or even better, send grocery delivery straight to the kitchen to help offset their costs. Right now, they could really use:
🥣 Frozen thick-cut homestyle noodles
🍗 Chicken broth base

We have heard incredible feedback about the 740 Rescue Kitchen! Here is one more option in our community with the aim to not only fill empty bellies, but to fill them well! 💗

Logan-Hocking Schools is proud to partner with Hocking College, the Joe Burrow Foundation, and 740 Rescue Kitchen to help fight hunger in our community. 740 Rescue Kitchen rescues surplus food from grocery stores, restaurants, and local farmers, then transforms it into fresh, healthy meals for families - no questions asked. 💜
Families may schedule a pick-up or request meals be sent home with students. To schedule a pick-up, contact the Food Service Department at 740-385-2069, ext. 11064, Monday through Friday, between 7 a.m. and 1 p.m.
