Hocking Hills Inspire Shelter

Hocking Hills Inspire Shelter Hocking Hills Inspire Shelter is a homeless shelter in Logan, OH inspiring people to have a better li The new shelter was opened in October 2018.

Hocking Hills Inspire Shelter (HHIS) was founded in December 2011 by a group of likeminded citizens who were concerned about the growing homeless population in Hocking County. The only shelter that served Hocking County at that time was Timothy House through Good Works in Athens, Ohio which served 9 counties. In May 2012 HHIS received 501(c)(3) tax exempt status and in December 2012 HHIS opened an

office in Logan. HHIS has served numerous families and individuals through the office by connecting them with area resources and providing emergency supplies. In December 2013 HHIS opened a 5 bed emergency shelter in a leased house. The shelter serves all ages and requires residents to be drug and alcohol free. The shelter is closed during the day while residents are encouraged to look for work and housing. The mission of HHIS is to inspire people to have a better life. In 2015 HHIS was awarded a grant from the Capital Funds to End Homelessness! This amazing opportunity enabled HHIS to build a permanent shelter to meet the needs of the community. HHIS is currently funded by grants, donations and fundraisers. Suggested non-monetary donations are umbrellas, non-perishable food, large bottles of body wash and shampoo, laundry soap, cleaning supplies, trash bags and paper products. HHIS is typically unable to take clothing and furniture donations due to storage limitations. Please call the office to coordinate donations 740-385-5116. Thank you for your support!

We are incredibly grateful to everyone who donated their time, energy, and skills to build, place and fill our new raised flower beds at the Shelter!!! Thanks to a grant from the Logan-Holl Foundation Fund at Foundation for Appalachian Ohio for making this possible!!
Barton A. Holl, an industrialist and community leader, founded the Logan-Holl Foundation in 1968 with $80,000 of his own money. He wanted to design a foundation so that his altruistic endeavors could continue when he was no longer able to give. He died in 1979 at the age of 86. As he desired, the Logan-Holl Foundation continues his legacy of funding projects that benefit the people of Logan and Hocking County. The Logan-Holl Foundation Fund joined the Foundation for Appalachian Ohio in 2021 and is part of the Hocking County Community Fund’s family of funds.
Also sending a big thanks to the following:

🪴 Hill Landscaping & Garden Market for donating all of the soil!
🛠️ Tom & Beth Kluding for building the flower beds!!
🌺 Michael Carper for the flowers!!
🥦 Rick Webb for the broccoli!!
🌻 Tyler McManaway for helping put it all together!!
And anyone else who helped make this project come to life!!
