Hocking County Republican Party Executive Committee Endorses Jay Edwards for OhioTreasurer and Michael Linton for Hocking County Commissioner
Logan, Ohio – The Hocking County Republican Party Executive Committee proudly announcesits endorsement of Jay Edwards for Treasurer of the State of Ohio and Michael Linton forre-election as Hocking County Commissioner in the 2026 Republican primary and general election.
"These endorsements reflect our commitment to strong, conservative leadership at both the stateand local levels," said Michael Harris, Chairman of the Hocking County Republican Party Executive Committee. "Jay Edwards and Michael Linton have demonstrated unwavering dedication to fiscal responsibility, limited government, and putting Ohioans and Hocking County residents first."
Jay Edwards for Ohio Treasurer: Jay Edwards, a native of southeast Ohio from neighboring Nelsonville, is a proven conservative fighter with a track record of delivering results. Mr.Edwards represented the Appalachian region in the Ohio House of Representatives from 2017-2025, rising to the position of Chairman of the House Finance Committee. In that role, he championed and passed historic $3.2 billion tax cuts for Ohio families and businesses, along with universal school choice to empower parents and strengthen education. As a candidate for Ohio Treasurer, Jay will bring his expertise in budgeting, finance, and conservative principles to safeguard taxpayer dollars, promote transparency in state investments,and ensure Ohio's resources support economic growth rather than government overreach. His roots in rural southeast Ohio make him a strong advocate for communities like Hocking County.
Michael Linton for Hocking County Commissioner: Since his appointment to the Hocking County Board of Commissioners in February 2024, Michael Linton has proven himself a dependable, hardworking leader focused on the needs of Hocking County residents. He has prioritized fiscal stewardship, supported key infrastructure improvements, and collaborated to address rural community challenges while upholding principles of limited government and accountability. Under his leadership, efforts have helped control taxes, foster economic opportunity, and make Hocking County a better place for families to live, work, and thrive.
