Message from the Hocking county Women’s Republican Club President.

As we wind down this important election season, I am winding down my tenure as President of the HCWRC.

This year has not been without it’s challenges, and I have learned much about how our county functions and the inner workings and connections that drive our Republican political structure.

It has been full of many, many disappointments in the actions/behaviors of elected and unelected officials as well as pleasant surprises on the positioning of solid conservatives brought forth to lead our county forward.

Much of the Republican Party’s self-induced woes, and I speak on the party at all levels (local, state and National) have been preventable if only the leadership would have put the Republican party principles OVER the Party name.

From a local persepctive, the local Republican Party neglected wisdom enough to set aside their personal feelings, opinions, long-time friendships, and thoughts and distanced themselves from the potential corruption within the county and the myriad of county “Republican” officials steeped in corruption and criminal charge allegations, to spare the party from further embarrassing alignments and affiliations that became painfully obvious.

In February of this year, 2024, after watching our local Republican party continue to dig their heals in and refuse to protect the party image and reputation from the growing county scandals and criminal accusations, I publically called out their duties as central committee elected officials, for individually moving a central committeeman forward as a candidate for a very important legal position as Sheriff with their signatories, that, if elected, would have potentially put citizens of Hocking county in jeopardy and further scandal not to mention the further erosion of the Party image and reputation.

This individual candidate, steeped in controversy, has several pending indictments, and who, by the permission and blessing of your GOP Central committee leadership, continued to have an active voice and role within the party..

I observed, in silence, during all of 2023, as this individual continued to have a voice, was left alone to serve on the Central Committee seat he was APPOINTED to by these SAME Central committee elected officials despite many, many GOP monthly meetings where other executive and central committee members as well as attending voting republican base, called for his removal and/or resignation from his position.

Chairman Harris, during his many visits this year to the Women’s Republican Club meetings, in an attempt to get me to resign because of my public and personal stances against the Hocking county GOP’s actions and alliances, admitted to the Women’s club during the April meeting that this indicted central committee-member had called Harris to ask if he should resign, to which Chairman Harris said “No”. This was despite the continued examples of the Committee under Chairman Harris' leadership demanded indicted commissioner Jessica Dickens RESIGN her executive committee position, and then subsequent calls by the Chairman and Central committee for Ryan Black to be removed/resign amidst his allegations...both of which were the RIGHT decisions to make, but demonstrated painfully obvious bias for Mr. Caleb Moritz, who was APPOINTED in Jan of 2023 by this same central committee membership.

Chairman Harris REFUSED to ask or allow this indicted Central Committee member to o resign not even to save the dignity, reputation and image of the party.

Worse, at this year’s reorganization meeting in March 2024, in which Scott Kitzmiller replaced Moritz in the Marion 1 township central committee seat ( a very wise and welcoming change) at the beheadst of several central committee members , a seat on Executive Committee has been RESERVED for Mr. Moritz pending the outcomes of his trial.

This continues to demonstrate an alliance to keep Mr. Caleb Moritz involved in the Republican Party as a leadership role , voice and decision-maker for the GOP.

This recent action, continues to serve as another very questionable move by the Central Committee and further proof that the GOP reputation, decisions and alliances continue to instill mistrust to the Party’s reputation and hinder it’s ability to reach the general voting base of Republicans who are left scratching their heads on WHY this alliance and political protection and favoring continue.

On a personal note, because I dared to question and call out those who moved him forward as a candidate, for Sheriff, which is an incredibly important and trusted position of elected authority, I was blacklisted, harangued, threatened and scape-goated from that time forward so much so that it permeated my duties and ability to function FOR the Women’s Club… But I am NOT a quitter and have seen this presidency tenure through.

I take away a lot of information on HOW the GOP functions, not only in the County but at the state level, and as one who has been intricately involved in the process for years, I can tell you that the GOP at all levels have LOST their vision and mission of actually championing for small limited government, Protection of our citizenry from foreign and domestic terrorist (think open boarders and illegal criminal sanctuaries) and Abolishing Slavery in all forms, even in this 21st century.

We have a lot of work to do in Hocking County and the State of Ohio, which is woefully at risk of losing our ‘red’ status and are heading into the purple and even blue hues of political ideology and leadership, much of it involving “Republicans” and their Blue 22 fringe faction.

Moving forward, I will continue to work at local grassroots levels to motivate, educate and empower LOCAL Citizens who align with Constitutional Conservative, Libertarian and Independent political ideologies. I have successfully created several very active Citizens grassroots teams in 8 counties in Ohio, including our Fairfield County Conservatives team that are battling big tech infiltration, and Solar panel “farms’ that are ruining prime farm land within Fairfield county and all over Ohio. The amount of foreign owned land in Ohio is staggering and I will continue to work with teams such as the Ohio Freedom Action Network and the Independent Citizen’s Journalist led “Ohio Round Table Media’ to work to get information out to all Ohioans and the local counties that are being faced with these issues.

Hocking County is experiencing our own growing pains with the threats of rising Tourism, emergency and law enforcement personnel stretched thin and the continued rise in substance abuse that is leading to unprecedented reports of child abuse and neglect and further dismantling of family and family values through potential nefarious actors specializing in Po*******hy, child po*******hy and even anime’ P**n that targets children,

The creation of potential ‘havens’ for such actions and behaviors, in Hocking county, is a very real existential threat that put all of us at risk for exposure and perpetuates further degradation of our family values inside the county.

If you would like to join me and several others in Hocking county who will be working to tackle these and other external threats to our peaceful and serene Hocking Hills, please reach out to me directly. I’ll be working with several others to get regular meetings going with the explicit goal of helping the average citizen step up and step in to our county political arena and BE the change that is needed to preserve our amazing piece of Ohio Paradise.

I thank all of you who have reached out to me, been sounding boards, expressed concerns and disappointments in our county leadership and I am motivated by your calls and conversations to stay in the game and continue the good fight.

Many thanks to those of you who supported my tenure as the Hocking County Women’s Republican Club president.

Unfortunately I do not see myself continuing in these “clubs” that demand “loyalty” to the Party that is every bit as corrupt as our democrat counter-parts. I will continue to speak out and speak up on the corruption and bad decisions being done in my Political Party’s name.

As my friend from Cuyahoga county GOP leadership team recently reminded me “ There is no point in calling out the corruption and socialist/communist actions of our Democrat political opponents.. they are going to predictably do what they will do… No our job, as active Republicans, is to hold our OWN accountable to the Constitution, restoring the party's original platforms and challenging and holding those elected under the Banner of “Republicanism” are truly reflecting the values, morals and ethics of the party and more importantly the citizens who support, vote and believe in the same."
God Bless!

See you in the trenches!
Angela K. Ryan RN, BSN Hocking County WRC President

We are solidly on our way to voting in our next cache of candidates to represent you at the various elected leadership roles at both the state and local levels.
I have had the privilege of meeting several of these souls over the last 2 years and I want to , as my final action as President of the HCWRC, endorse the following individuals and give you some insight on why I think they will be a good official AND serve in their respective positions they seek.

One of the most important roles a county has is the role of county commissioner.
I have observed this office for the last several years and I can tell you that we are heading in the right direction.
The Commissioners hold the purse strings of the county financials along with other important decisions that directly affect the citizens of Hocking county not the least of which is septic systems, that seem to consume a lot of their focus and efforts.

Last year, upon the Death of Commissioner Gary Waugh, who served with honor and integrity, the Hocking county GOP appointed Jason D'onofrio in his place. I have had several conversations with Jason, and for all practical purposes he seems to truly have Hocking County's best interest at heart and seeks to make it a more user friendly, fiscally responsible and accountable department. He has opened up conversations on financials and how things are done and I believe he wants to do the right thing for all citizens and county business. AS a Republican I would like to see him champion LESS rules and regulations and ordinances affecting the citizenry and keep "small limited government" at the forefront of his role. Jason D'onofrio will continue to serve the county well and as always I encourage everyone to attend or watch the county commissioner's meetings Thursday mornings.

Also currently serving out the vacated spot of Jessica Dickens as county Commissioner is Mike Linton. This by far was absolutely the BEST decision that the GOP has brought forth in active representation in several years. Mike is not only highly quailified and understands HOW business should run, but his ability to break down the county financials, see where all the money is and how it is being spent and then ASKING the hard questions and waiting for answers before he allows something to move forward, is exemplar.
He isn't just rubber stamping thing through and seems to be getting a good handle on what is happening in the county and where we need to make changes. I look forward to seeing everything Mike will do in this role as County commissioner.

Andrew (Drew) Davidson is running against Sandra Ogle in this race. I have met and spoken to Drew a few times over the last 18 months and I can tell you he is bright, understands political insider roles INCLUDING that as a Republican elected official. I think Drew will do well as a commissioner IF he keeps his focus on doing the right thing for the county Citizens and leaves his business ties and affiliations out of his decision-making. The problem with small counties is that the few individuals who do step up to lead are often the same who have led in other county/city/township ventures and this can be a bonus OR it can lead to a form of cronyism that plagues the political arena. I believe Drew wants to do a good job for the county, reign in spending, bring in new jobs and responsible growth to the county and for that I am very excited to see what new fresh ideas, perspectives and experience he will bring to the Commisioners table.

The Treasurer's race gets a little more complicated.
On one hand the individual who was appointed by our Democrat counter-parts, Janie Harris, having served in this office before, seems to bring the same continued continuity of service that we expect from the Treasurer's office. On the other hand, does that service need some additional fresh persectives from a Republican small limited government mind-set on how to run efficiently and cost effectively?
Blaine Davidson is running for the county Treasurer's seat. I have only had the opportunity to speak to Blaine once at a GOP meeting. It was brief and I don't reallyl know what his past qualifications, experience or even WHY he wants to run for the Treasurer's office. The other reality is that Blaine is brother to Andrew Davidson, and for better or worse I am not a big fan of this form of government nepotism, where the same names/families dominate the political spectrum of local governance. As a Republican, however, I am actually going to give Blaine a chance to prove himself in the role and I will look forward to seeing what he brings to the county as it's new Treasurer. I am including the Hocking county Treasurer's web page which contains a detailed description for the Treasurer's roles and responsibilities.

And of course I wish ALL of our local, State and Federal GOP candidates the very best on their political campaigns as we go for the last 2 week stretch of the race.

WIN November!

As President of the Hocking County Women's Republican Club, it is in our by-law requirements that our organization work to encourage and support conservative Republican women running for office.
I am very proud of the wonderful gal running for our Hocking county Recorder's position, Elect - Teresa Salizzoni, Hocking County Recorder.
I have had the pleasure of knowing and watching Teresa over the last couple of years as she has entered the political arena through her active participation at the Hocking County Republican Party both as an Executive Committee member AND NOW as a Central Committee member.
She has been a strong voice on both levels and her willingness to step into the political candidate platform is a testimony to her passion for Hocking county and her desire to make her mark and work to make Hocking County as efficient and 'user-friendly' as possible.
She will carry a strong sense of integrity forward into her role as a County Recorder and I look forward to seeing her move forward in this role and beyond!
If you haven't a clue what the County recorder does, I'm including a link for a 'job description" of the overall duties of a county recorder.

It is my honest experience and opinion that Elect - Teresa Salizzoni, Hocking County Recorder will absolultely fulfill those duties to her fullest ability with integrity, honesty and timeliness.
We look forward to seeing Elect - Teresa Salizzoni, for the WIN in this upcoming November election.!
