PVWC Hydrant Flushing 10/13/21: Liberty St., Union St. and Main St.

There may be unavoidable water discoloration and low pressure during hydrant flushing. Customers are encouraged to run the cold water after hydrant flushing for a minute or two to determine if the water is clean before washing clothes or any other processing as staining may occur.

‼🚫Passaic Valley Water Commission's contractor Roman E&G will be conducting road openings to begin decommissioning and replacing services in the Borough beginning today, 9/29. Any resident whose services will be replaced have been notified by PVWC. *No Parking Signs* have been posted in these areas. The schedule has been provided below, please note that the work is being done in the area of specific properties and the road openings may or may not impact traffic flow. 🚫‼

Bergen County has officially received the major disaster declaration by the White House, which makes Federal funding available to affected residents and business owners. Assistance can include grants to help pay for temporary housing, emergency home repairs, uninsured and underinsured personal property losses, and medical, dental and funeral expenses caused by the disaster, together with other serious disaster related expenses.

FEMA has also dispatched a mobile service unit to help residents apply for disaster relief and answer any questions they may have in-person. Their mobile unit is currently stationed at the Lodi Shop Rite located at 175 Main Street, Lodi until 6 p.m. tonight. FEMA intents to visit heavily impacted areas across the County and further details regarding locations will be forthcoming.

Bergen County residents and business owners who sustained losses in the designated counties can now apply for by registering online at www.DisasterAssistance.gov or by calling 1-800-621-FEMA(3362) or 1-800-462-7585 (TTY) for the hearing and speech impaired. The toll-free telephone numbers will operate from 7 a.m. to 10 p.m. (local time) seven days a week until further notice.

Thursday's garbage pick-up will take place 1st today. Today's, 9/3 pick-up will follow. Anything remaining in the Friday section will be picked up tomorrow, 9/4. Due to the holiday, there will be no garbage pick-up on Monday, 9/6.
