In recognition of National 811 Day, Lodi Electric Utility reminds residents to always call 811 before beginning any digging project—big or small.

Before you dig:

1️⃣ Call 811
2️⃣ Wait for underground utility lines to be marked
3️⃣ Dig carefully and safely

Calling 811 helps protect you, your neighbors, and essential electric, gas, water, and communication lines.

📚✨ As students head back to class, let’s keep safety at the top of the list!
Here are 3 quick tips for a safe and energy-smart school year:
1️⃣ Unplug chargers when not in use — it saves energy and keeps devices safe.

2️⃣ Never overload outlets — especially in study spaces.

Do not use electrical cords that are frayed or cracked
Never force a plug into an outlet if it doesn't fit
Never remove the third prong from a three pronged plug

3️⃣ Report downed power lines immediately — safety first, always.
If you see a power line down, do the following:

Avoid touching the line
Call 9-1-1
Do not touch anything in contact with the line
Do not drive over any downed lines
