On the evening of March 21, 2026, Woodbridge Fire Engine 72, Engine 74, and Batallion Chief 71 were dispatched for a report of a train versus pickup truck in the area of W Armstrong Rd and N Davis Rd. A large column of smoke was reported by Engine 72 coming out of quarters and initiated fire attack once arriving on scene. Once the fire was extinguished, extended extrication had taken place.

There has been multiple vehicle accidents with extrications lately, and the Woodbridge Fire District reminds everyone to drive safe and responsibly. We are proud to serve our community.

Engine 74 on scene of a tractor fire on Wright Tract. Due to the amount of water needed for this incident, Boat 71 was used as a water supply on the San Joaquin River. Thank you to Stockton Engine 10 for the assistance. The Woodbridge Fire District covers approximately 197 square miles, including 9 islands in the San Joaquin Delta. We are proud to serve our community.

The Woodbridge Rural Fire Protection District is seeking qualified candidates for the position of
Lateral Apparatus Engineer. We are establishing an eligibility list to fill 3 current openings, with
potential additional vacancies during the list’s duration.
Key Details:
• Application period: March 11, 2026 (0800 hrs) — March 27, 2026 (5:00 PM)
• External candidates must submit a District Employment Application
• Minimum requirements include fire apparatus driving/pumping experience, full-time firefighter
experience, and appropriate driver’s licensing
• Highly desirable: CSFM Driver/Operator certifications, EVT coursework, and mechanical
aptitude
• Selection process includes skills assessment, oral panel interview, and Fire Chief interview
Salary & Benefits:
- $83,075 – $92,286 annually
-Health, dental, life insurance, and retiree medical
-CalPERS retirement
-Vacation, sick leave, CTO, longevity pay, education incentives, and specialized team pay
