It is with a heavy heart that the Chiefs Office regrets to announce the passing of Ex-Chief John Suttie.
Ex-Chief Suttie joined Hook and Ladder Co. #1 on June 4, 1957.
In his 67 years of service he served as Captain of Hook and Ladder Co. #1, Chief of Department from 1990-1992,
President and Trustee of the Locust Valley Fireman's Exempt & Benevolent Association, President of the 5th Battalion Chiefs Organization.
Delegate to the 5th Battalion District,
Delegate to the North Shore Fire Council,
Member of the Fire Chiefs Council of Nassau County, the Nassau County Fireman's Association, and the Fireman's Association of the State of New York.
He is survived by his daughter Ex-Captain Lynn Ramskill (Police Unit/Emergency Medical Rescue Comapny) and her husband Ex-Chief Warren Ramskill (Chemical Company #1)
