Just a reminder! If you haven’t had a chance to visit Cubihatcha and our trails on a Saturday yet, this weekend is your last opportunity for the summer!

Saturday, May 30th, will be the final Saturday the trails will be open for the season.

In honor of Memorial Day, Tussahaw and Upper Towaliga Reservoirs will be OPEN on May 25th, 2026 from 7:00 AM – 7:00 PM.

Reminder: The Cubihatcha Outdoor Education Center and Trails will be CLOSED on Monday, May 25th, 2026, and will resume normal operations on Tuesday, May 26th, 2026.

We hope everyone has a safe and enjoyable holiday weekend as we take time to remember and honor those who served.

A big congratulations to all of our winners from this year’s Cubihatcha Kids Fishing Day Tournament!

We loved seeing so many young anglers out enjoying the day, making memories, and showing off their fishing skills.

Huge THANK YOU to all of our amazing sponsors for supporting the Cubihatcha Outdoor Education Center Kids Fishing Day! Your generosity helped make this event such a huge success for our community. 💙

We are incredibly grateful to everyone who came out, braved the rain early that morning, and showed so much patience and understanding as we pushed the event back by two hours. Seeing so many smiling faces, families fishing together, and kids making memories made it all worth it!

A special thank you to all Chick-fil-A locations in Henry County and Truett’s Grill in Stockbridge and McDonough for sponsoring free lunch for our guests.

IMPORTANT UPDATE: Due to forecasted weather, the Cubihatcha Kids Fishing Day schedule has been adjusted to ensure safer, more enjoyable fishing conditions later in the day. 🎣🌦️

Updated Schedule:
Check-In: 8:30 AM
First Cast: 9:00 AM
Weigh-In: 1:00 PM
Lunch & Awards: 1:30 PM
Bonus Fishing: Until 2:30 PM

Please arrive by 10 AM to ensure your spot!

Another great school group visited Cubihatcha Outdoor Education Center from Strong Rock Christian School

This wonderful group learned about Native Wildlife, Water Quality, The Food Chain, followed up by a great time fishing!

Today is Earth Day—a reminder that this planet isn’t just where we live, it’s what sustains us. Every drop of water, every tree, every breath of fresh air is a gift we often take for granted.

We don’t need to be perfect to make a difference, but we do need to be intentional. The small choices we make every day—reducing waste, conserving energy, being mindful of what we consume—add up in ways that matter more than we realize.

This Earth doesn’t belong to us; we belong to it. Caring for our planet is a responsibility we all share—for ourselves, for each other, and for the generations who will come after us.
