This evening, our EMS Captain Ast received the Big Lakes Regional Council Advanced Life Support Provider of the Year! Captain Ast has been with us since 2009, and has taken thousands of emergency calls. This past year he completed his Critical Care to Paramedic bridge program. Thank you for all that you do and congratulations! Also, congratulations to all the other awardees this evening, keep up the great work!

Officially in service! Today we officially put our new engine in service, replacing our 2001 pumper. Our members spent the morning moving hose and equipment to the new engine quickly and efficiently to ensure we maintained department readiness. We are excited to utilize this new engine for many years to come!
Lastly our members pushed in the new engine:
Pushing a new fire engine into the station is a deeply symbolic fire service tradition honoring history, teamwork, and community. Dating back to the late 1800s—when horses couldn't back engines into bays—it marks the apparatus’s official entry into service, symbolizing a transition from a purchased vehicle to a "baptized" tool of protection.

Thank you to the many people that have helped make this happen as well as the truck committee for all their hard work!

Burn bans are in place for a reason! “It rained” doesn’t mean dormant plants and grass are not flammable.

THE NATIONAL WEATHER SERVICE IN BUFFALO HAS ISSUED A SPECIAL WEATHER STATEMENT FOR ELEVATED RISK OF WILDFIRE SPREAD IN WESTERN NEW YORK TODAY...

The combination of dry fine fuels, southerly wind gusts of to 20 to 30 mph, and relative humidity values as low as 25 to 35 percent will contribute to an elevated risk for fire spread this afternoon.

The annual statewide burn ban is in effect until May 14. No burn permits are issued. Use extra caution if handling any potential ignition sources such as machinery or matches, and ensure to
properly extinguish or dispose of cigarette butts.
