Happy Labor Day!

Today, we recognize and celebrate the hard work and dedication of workers throughout our community and beyond.

We hope everyone has a safe, relaxing, and enjoyable Labor Day!

Our Administrative Offices will be closed in observance of the holiday. We will open tomorrow at our normal time.

A quick clarification on our playground update:

We’ve seen a few questions about what’s still to come, so we wanted to clarify that the playground is not finished yet.

There is still quite a bit of work ahead, including edging the playground area, adding mulch, and completing the remaining site work.

And yes - there will be swings! The existing swing set was still in great condition, so rather than replace perfectly good equipment, it will be reinstalled as part of the completed playground.

The photo we shared was simply a progress update so everyone could see the new equipment taking shape - not a photo of the finished project.

We’re excited to see everything come together and appreciate everyone’s patience while we finish the job. We’ll continue sharing updates.

PLAYGROUND UPDATE - CONSTRUCTION IS COMPLETE! 🎉

We’re excited to share that construction of our new playground at Hamilton Township Park is officially complete!

There are still a few finishing touches to take care of, and the playground must undergo its final inspection before it can open to the public.

Please note: The playground is NOT open for use just yet. We know everyone is excited to check it out, and we appreciate your patience while we complete these final steps and make sure everything is ready and safe for our community.

We’ll post another update as soon as we have an official opening date.

Playground Update - We’re making progress!

Work is underway on the new playground and the new equipment is really starting to take shape!

Construction was unfortunately delayed after the park experienced significant flooding during the storms in August. The wet conditions impacted the construction site and pushed the project timeline back, but work is now moving forward again.

We appreciate everyone’s patience while installation is underway and can’t wait to see local families enjoying the finished playground.

📢 Mosquito Spraying - Hamilton Township

Hamilton Township is scheduled for mosquito spraying on Wednesday, September 2, 2026, starting at 9pm, as part of the county's Mosquito Management Program. The planned area covers Hamilton Meadows and surrounding sections near SR-23 and SR-317 (see map link below to check if your street is included).

Quick reminders: pets are safe outside but can be brought in if preferred, cover fishponds, bring in laundry before spraying, and wash garden produce as usual. If you see the spray truck, don't approach it - the driver will pause spraying to let you pass safely.

Hamilton Township is seeking comments on a grant application to repave Fishburn Street, Fishburn Court and a portion of Cherrydale Avenue in Hamilton Meadows.

Public input is encouraged as part of this funding application to the Ohio Public Works Commission - all comments received will be reviewed and submitted along with the Township’s application.

Playground update!

We know everyone has been excited (and very patient!) as our new playground comes together, and we’re happy to say that progress is happening!

The recent high water has put work on pause for the rest of this week, but we’ll be back at it as soon as conditions allow.

We’re excited to see it all come together and can’t wait for everyone to enjoy the new space for years to come. More updates coming soon!

🚫 PARK CLOSURE NOTICE 🚫

Hamilton Township Park located at 5333 Lockbourne Road is currently CLOSED due to high water.

For everyone's safety, please avoid the park, trails, and creek access areas until further notice. High water levels can create hazardous and fast-moving conditions, even where the water may look calm.

If you notice any unsafe conditions on township property, please contact the Hamilton Township office at (614) 491-3963.
For non-emergency assistance, you can also reach the Franklin County Sheriff's Office at (614) 525-3333.

MOSQUITO SPRAYING THIS WEDNESDAY

Hamilton Township residents: mosquito spraying is scheduled for Wednesday, August 19.

Spraying will take place during the evening hours to help reduce mosquito populations in the community.

Please note: Spraying is weather dependent and may be postponed due to rain or unfavorable conditions.

Residents are encouraged to take normal precautions when outdoors and continue eliminating standing water around their properties.
