At approximately 1300 hours today, City units were dispatched for a reported vehicle into a structure on the 900 block of Bellefonte Ave in the City. Fire crews arrived on scene to find a pickup truck had left the roadway and struck a dwelling, causing significant structural damage. After confirming no one was injured, crews performed a damage assessment, evacuated occupants, and secured utilities coming into the building to prevent further damage. The occupants of the building are displaced until the building can be repaired.

This photo isn't of a wartorn city street in a foreign land. This was New York City on September 11th, 2001. We have a generation that didn't live through, or who don't remember that fateful day. We should never forget the innocent lives lost and the heroic sacrifices that allowed others to live.

***Citation Award***
On the 21st of August 2026 at approximately 1220 hours, Station 6 was dispatched for an infant in cardiac arrest. District Chief Eric Brungard, District Chief Sean Kleckner, Sgt. Cory Mitchell, and Jr. FF Brad Brungard arrived on scene, confirmed the infant was in cardiac arrest, and immediately began life saving measures. These actions were instrumental in restoring a life-sustaining heart rhythm.

For their actions, these members are awarded a successful resuscitation citation. The infant survival rate for cardiac arrest events is about 10%, highlighting the importance of early CPR and advanced interventions.

It's been a busy night for City responders... Since 10pm last night, the LHFD has responded to over 30 incidents. A significant number of these incidents are the result of individuals driving through flooded roadways and becoming stranded in rising flood waters. STOP DRIVING THROUGH FLOODED ROADWAYS!

On a positive note, thanks to Dunkin Donuts of Lock Haven for providing refreshments to help keep our responders fueled throughout the night, with many of our volunteers still needing to report to their full-time jobs this morning.

***Contents Fire in Mid-Rise***
At 1607 hours, a possible structure fire was reported at Carter Towers in the City. Units arrived on scene to find smoke showing from the first division lobby. Upon further investigation, it was found that a heating pad had malfunctioned and caught fire. After ensuring the materials were fully extinguished and no one was injured, the building was ventilated of smoke. City units returned to service at approximately 1645 hours.

This morning, our staff and volunteers are in attendance for the YMCA's Community Helper event with a picnic to follow.
