Update regarding the Bald Eagle Valley Trail…

PLEASE READ & SHARE. EFFECTIVE IMMEDIATELY. TRAIL CLOSURE (Mile 0.1 to 1.5 in CASTANEA) SEE BELOW FOR MORE DETAILS.

The Castanea portion of the Bald Eagle Valley Trail from the Castanea Fire Station (Station 3) to The 220 Underpass (mile 1.5) is hereby CLOSED UNTIL FURTHER NOTICE. This section of the trail received extensive damage during the unprecedented storm on 09/02/2026. This section of the trail is impassable. Do not utilize this portion of the trail!

Other sections of the trail remain open, but please proceed with caution as other sections of trail surface have sustained minor damage.

We continue to assess the damage. We will provide updates thru Facebook as repairs are made and expectations on when this section will reopen.

Our thoughts are with all those whose lives and property were affected by this storm.

From the City of Lock Haven - BOIL WATER ADVISORY

The residents of 1,2,3 Elwood Lane, All Quiggle Ave. (1-46), 7 Zane Circle, 2, 4, 6 Grimm Circle and all of Crawford Lane (2-33) may be at increased risk for Microbial Contamination. On Tuesday September 1st, we experienced a loss of positive water pressure due to a break.

Residents should not drink the water without boiling it first. Bring all water to a rolling boil, let it boil for one minute and let it cool before using; or use bottled water. You should use boiled or bottled water for drinking, making ice, washing dishes, brushing teeth and food preparation until further notice.

We will inform you when you no longer need to boil your water. For more information, please contact the Lock Haven Water Department.

Castanea Township is aware of a water leak on Fleming Avenue. The City of Lock Haven has responded and is addressing the issue.

This water leak will affect several homes on Fleming Avenue. For any inquiries or questions regarding the water leak or potential water service interruptions, please contact the City of Lock Haven directly.

🌦️ Due to a change in plans because of the weather, ALL activities scheduled at the Castanea Moose will now take place INSIDE the Moose.
