Meeting Notice: The Clinton County Commissioners' Board Meeting will be held in person on Thursday, September 10, 2026 at 10:00 AM.
The meeting will be located in the Piper Building, 2nd floor conference room. The agenda is posted here.
The meetings will also be streamed live on the “Clinton County Government” page.
Any member of the public wishing to comment on any agenda item may do so during the Public Comment Period. Persons desiring to address the Board, should provide comments or questions to [email protected] by 9 AM the day of the meeting, or you may call 570-893-4000 during the Public Comment Period.

NOTICE FROM THE CLINTON COUNTY BOARD OF COMMISSIONERS

The Clinton County Board of Commissioners have issued Proclamation No. 17 of 2026, formally declaring a disaster emergency in Clinton County effective September 3, 2026.

This declaration follows the heavy rainfall, substantial runoff and flooding that caused or threatened injury and damage throughout Clinton County.

Residents are encouraged to continue exercising caution and monitoring official County communications for additional updates.

Unfortunately, the BEVT was not spared during our storm. Many sections are still open. Please use caution as the community planner continues to assess.

PLEASE READ & SHARE. EFFECTIVE IMMEDIATELY. TRAIL CLOSURE (Mile 0.1 to 1.5 in CASTANEA) SEE BELOW FOR MORE DETAILS.

The Castanea portion of the Bald Eagle Valley Trail from the Castanea Fire Station (Station 3) to The 220 Underpass (mile 1.5) is hereby CLOSED UNTIL FURTHER NOTICE. This section of the trail received extensive damage during the unprecedented storm on 09/02/2026. This section of the trail is impassable. Do not utilize this portion of the trail!

Other sections of the trail remain open, but please proceed with caution as other sections of trail surface have sustained minor damage.

We continue to assess the damage. We will provide updates thru Facebook as repairs are made and expectations on when this section will reopen.

Our thoughts are with all those whose lives and property were affected by this storm.

Stay home if you can.
Travel with caution if you must.
Do not drive through flooded roads.

PennDOT has road closures in effect at the following locations due to flooding. Updates in traffic impacts will follow later this morning. In the meantime, drivers are reminded to utilize 511PA

Centre County:


Route1002 (Marsh Creek Road) between Howard Divide and Bald Eagle Valley roads.

Clinton County:


Route 150 in both directions between Lusk Run and Mill Hall Roads
Route 2019 (Laurel Run Road)
Route 2020 (Lusk Run Road) near the township building
Route 2022 (Sugar Run/Laurel Run Road)


Centre & Clinton counties:

Route 1016/2024 (Orviston/Beech Creek Road)

Based on the recommendation of local emergency officials, and out of an abundance of caution and in the interest of employee and public safety, Clinton County offices and Courts are closed today, Thursday, September 3, 2026, due to the severe storms and flash flooding.

Essential and emergency services will continue to operate. Please avoid unnecessary travel and never attempt to drive through flooded roadways.

Any additional updates will be posted as they become available.
