Join the Loami Fire Department for our Fish Fry from 4:00 PM – 7:00 PM! With this beautiful, warm, sunny weather, it’s the perfect evening to come out, enjoy a great meal, and spend time with friends and neighbors.

🔥 Loami Fire Department Fish Fry 🔥

Join us on Saturday, March 21st from 4:00 PM – 7:00 PM for our annual Fish Fry! Bring your family and friends out for a great meal while supporting your local fire department.

Meal Prices:
🐟 Adult Fish Meal – $15
🍗 Adult Chicken Meal – $13
👧 Kids Meal (10 & Under) – $10

Each meal includes:
Fish or Chicken, Cole Slaw, Fries, Bread, Dessert, and a Drink.

🚨 Severe Weather Preparedness – Tuesday, March 10 🚨

The Loami Fire Department would like to remind residents that severe weather is predicted for our area on Tuesday, March 10. Storms may bring strong winds, large hail, heavy rain, and the potential for tornadoes.

Now is a good time to review your severe weather plan and make sure your family is prepared.

Helpful Preparedness Tips:

🌪 Outdoor Warning Sirens
Outdoor sirens are designed to warn people who are outside of dangerous weather such as tornadoes. They may not always be heard indoors, so do not rely on them as your only alert method.

📻 NOAA Weather Radios
A NOAA Weather Radio provides 24/7 weather alerts directly from the National Weather Service and will sound an alarm when warnings are issued for our area.

📱 Multiple Ways to Receive Alerts
Have more than one way to receive warnings, including:
• Weather apps on your phone
• Local news stations
• NOAA Weather Radio
• Wireless Emergency Alerts on your mobile device

🏠 Know Your Safe Place
If a Tornado Warning is issued:
• Go to a basement if available
• If no basement, move to a small interior room on the lowest level of your home
• Stay away from windows

🔦 Prepare an Emergency Kit
Consider having:
• Flashlights and extra batteries
• Phone chargers
• Weather radio
• First aid kit
• Bottled water

⚠️ Stay Weather Aware
Storms can develop quickly. Pay attention to changing weather conditions and alerts throughout the day Tuesday.

The Loami Fire Department will continue to monitor conditions and provide updates if necessary. Please stay safe and prepared.

Come out and support your local firefighters this Saturday, March 7th from 1:00 PM – 3:00 PM at the Loami Fire Department for a delicious Bake Sale!

There will be plenty of homemade treats to choose from, and all proceeds go directly to supporting your local fire department. Your support helps us continue serving and protecting our community.

🚒 Help Us Find You When Seconds Matter 🚒

The Loami Fire Protection District would like to remind residents how important it is to have your house numbers clearly visible from the road.

In an emergency, visible address numbers help fire, police, and ambulance crews locate your home quickly—saving valuable time when every second counts. Large, easy-to-read numbers that are not blocked by trees, decorations, or snow can make a big difference.

As a bonus, visible house numbers also help delivery drivers and service providers find your home without delays. 📦🚚

Please take a moment to check your address numbers:
✔️ Visible from the street
✔️ Large and easy to read
✔️ Well-lit at night if possible
✔️ Not hidden by landscaping or décor

What an amazing turnout for our Fish Fry! The Loami Volunteer Fire Department wants to extend a huge thank you to everyone who came out to support us — whether you volunteered, donated, or stopped by for a meal. Your support keeps our department strong and able to serve this great community. 💪🚒

🍰 Calling all dessert lovers and bakers! 🥧

The Loami Fire Department is looking for dessert donations for our Fish Fry on Saturday, October 18th! 🍪🧁

If you’d like to help out, you can drop off desserts at the Loami Fire House after 10:00 AM on Saturday.

Your sweet treats make a big difference and help support our amazing volunteer firefighters — plus, they’re always a big hit with everyone who comes out! ❤️

🚨 Burn Ban Update for Loami 🚨

The burn ban for Loami, Illinois has officially been lifted. Residents may now resume safe burning on their own property.

However, due to the amount of rain our area received, the Village burn pile will remain CLOSED until further notice. The conditions are simply too wet to operate it safely at this time.

We’ll keep everyone updated when the burn pile is able to reopen. Thank you for your patience and understanding!

🚁 Life Flight Training Recap 🚁

Last night, the Loami Fire Protection Department, and the Loami Police Department hosted a Life Flight training at Colburn Park. The training included landing and securing a helicopter, as well as practicing coordinated response efforts to ensure we’re prepared for real emergencies.

These trainings are a vital part of keeping our community safe and making sure our first responders are ready when every second counts.

A big thank you to Life Flight crews, our firefighters, police officers, and the community for your cooperation during the park closure.
