Nipper Wildlife Sanctuary The Nipper Wildlife Sanctuary is a private wildlife Sanctuary located south of Loami, Illinois. It is open to the public from sunrise to sunset each day.

Welcome to the Nipper Wildlife Sanctuary established in 1995 and recently opened to the public in 2012. There is no cost to visit this site. This is a private wildlife sanctuary, established exclusively for protection of wildlife and to educate the public. Please note the rules for the site: we are open from dawn to dusk. Only foot traffic is allowed. No hunting or collecting of any kind without Nipper Wildlife Sanctuary approval. No alcohol allowed on the premises.

The Nipper Wildlife Sanctuary was excited to welcome The Sangamon Watercolor Society for plein air painting Wednesday morning. Thanks to everyone who came out this afternoon for the Nipper Wildlife Sanctuary Open House! Visitors were able to observe bird banding, take a guided hike, walk the trails or take a mule-drawn wagon ride through the prairie. It was a beautiful day!
