Lizton Union Township Fire Department Serving our community since 1946.

04/25/2026

Firefighters from the Lizton / Union Township Fire Department spent the week downtown Indianapolis at the annual Fire Department Instructors Conference (FDIC). This yearly event provides firefighters with premier training opportunities, with both hands on classes and lecture opportunities from instructors worldwide. Our firefighters were able to get more than 30 hours of training across the last 4 days. We are grateful for this yearly opportunity and can’t wait to do it again next year!

SEVERE WEATHER INCIDENT

Around 0800 this morning, fire crews were dispatched to multiple areas, including the area of W County Road 800 N/ N State Road 39, and a separate incident in the area of E County Road 800 N/ N County Road 100 E. It appears a severe weather event occurred, but there has been no confirmation of a tornado at this time. Crews spent a majority of the morning investigating the area, with the most highly affected areas being between N County Road 300 W and N County Road 100 E. There are multiple power outages in the area, and power companies are actively working to get power restored. We are happy to report that there have been no reported injuries to any civilians or firefighters.

We would like to thank the following agencies for assisting in the efforts this morning;

Introducing new Ambulance 101!

We are excited to share our newest addition to our department. Ambulance 101 is a 2025 Braun Chief XL, and it will be replacing a 25 year old truck, which also happens to be a Braun Chief XL!

We are committed to continually improving our service, and this new ambulance is another step toward providing the highest level of care for the residents of Lizton, Union Township, and surrounding areas.

We would like to thank Trustee Stringer, Tony Crum from Penn Care, Mindy’s Brownsburg Signs, and everyone else involved for their efforts and support with this truck!
